Has anyone played Shadow Hearts: Covenant and if so how is it / what’s it like? The premise seems insane.
it’s a bit slow and random battle heavy (and the main character’s personal arc was more or less entirely resolved in the previous game which can make the storytelling seem weird without that context) but it’s extremely easy to like if you’re in the mood for a jRPG… it’s easily in the top tier of like B-games from square’s heyday (like Suikoden or Xenogears or something), and that space had (contrary to some perceptions) mostly cratered by 2004 so it stands out well
shorter version of all that is that Shadow Hearts is good because jRPGs largely stopped being good for a long time within a year or two into the PS2’s lifespan but people were kind of in denial about this and it does a lot of the good things that PS1 jRPGs did
by god Xenogears is not a b-game
ITS MY FAVORITE FUCKING JRPG EVER AND I’LL NEVER SHUT UP ABOUT IT the wheel battle system is cool cuz you can upgrade the wheel to make you hit crits every time and it’s also FUCKING FUNNY
every character has a wildly different battle gimmick play all three (covenant was my first tho)
If you haven’t done Axiom Verge 1 or 2 yet, they are worth a look. While the first one feels a little like a self-insertion Super Metroid, the second one departs from that. But I had fun with both.
Maybe the two Elephantasy games. They are charming and different. First one is 2D and the second is isometric.
Elechead is short and more on the puzzle game side.
ELECHEAD IS SO GOOD
I like Elephantasy too
ElecHead is like a late-2000s Tigsource forums game that actually got finished and released
Knytt Underground is one that i don’t hear people talking about but i enjoyed. maybe not as much as ESA or Hollow Knight, but still had a good time with it.
if you want something much weirder/more out there (and in 3D) i would try this

Are there any wireless ps2 controllers available for purchase new that are not absolute trash?
The Logitech Cordless Action controller (2nd generation) is well reviewed. It works, and is reliable, but I never found it comfortable to hold and they can’t be bought new anymore; they were contemporaneous with the PS2 lifespan.
It might be worth looking into a Brook PS2 Controller adapter and using any Xbox One, Xbox Series, PS3, or PS4 controller you might already own. I’ve used one of the Brook adapters to use an X1 wireless controller on Saturn and Dreamcast and liked the experience a lot.
I got an 8bito bluetooth adapter but I hadn’t heard of the Brook one (which is unfortunately 2x as much), but that sounds perfect as it looks like it supports the pressure sensitive buttons of the dualshock 3 which is what I’m really after but forgot to articulate when I was asking right before bed last night
Thank you!
Someone actually gave me on of those logitech ones but it died immediately. I still have the pcb somewhere because I was going to harvest the joysticks for ???
What exactly is the “”“censorship”“” that’s in the PS1 version of Linda^3 against the saturn version.
Those Logitech controllers were always my favorites. When I decided to get one in 2022 (having lost my old ones in a flood years ago) I didn’t trust any of the used ones so I paid too much for an unopened one. The included batteries had a surprisingly thick layer of corrosion but the controller works perfectly.
There are more gorey scenes in the Playstation.
Very silly question but does anyone know what music is playing in this tweet https://twitter.com/higukyu/status/1406039022590468108
does anyone really love Kid Icarus?
