You can really go in either direction and have an equally valid experience. I played Automata first too and I think it’s the better game of the two, so you might as well start with it.
They’re almost entirely separate both gameplay and plotwise. I’d say Automata is to Replicant what Replicant is to Drakengard.
The majority of people who have played and loved Automata have never played the first game, and would probably hate it too.
I played Nier 1 back in the day and didn’t like Automata, so I wonder how much play order affects your expectations on that series.
If you start with Automata and do what you gotta do to get the full story, it hangs like a cloud over the story of Replicant
ooh i’m so curious now
i enjoyed both Nier games pretty immensely and played both at release. start with whichever seems more fun, but Replicant is good, so why not start there
The answer is never play Nier Replicant, no Papa Nier no peace~
I think it might be from something called Godtear (embarrassingly bad name), but I can’t find a match in any of it’s sets.
I don’t understand it as someone who played the original Nier near (lol) release.
Automata feels like bread with a pleasant combat system. It has pretty flat characters and the central scenario never hits because of this. People seem to like it for scifi themes done better almost anywhere else and a fat ass.
I think some of the later stuff gestures towards some interesting character things but I feel like Automata is a bit emperor’s new clothes yet it has surpassed every other game in that universe by virtue of having a satisfying dodge
I’ve played the first game and never Automata and I have no ragerts
why do you think it’s from godtear?
Round base, the color scheme, and at the store where I got it there were similar loose ones in the same bin that matched the other colors from that game.
Is it tear like rip, or tear like from your eye
the second one, it’s a terrible pun
Has anyone considered doom guy was saying rip and tear because he was referring to his own tears as he rips apart living beings?
You guys remember fucking Phantom Dust?
always
RIP and tear
Do the switch versions of the ff pixel remaster games have the same font and soundtrack options that were added to the steam ones?
yeah, the console versions had those on launch
