Now that I am coming to the end of SMT IV, I need to think which major timesink to delve into next, so the question is:

Which of these excessively long JRPGs should I play next?

  • Tactics Ogre Reborn
  • Shin Megami Tensei: Strange Journey REDUX
  • Undernauts: Labyrinth of Yomi
  • Astlibra Revision (I think it’s an RPG?)
  • Make your own damn decisions, dummy

Baten Kaitos sounds a lot weirder than I gave it credit for at the time. But if you’re playing an RPG in 2023 and could play it with rewind/fastforward/save states why would you play it a different way outside of masochism.

Great selection here. (Having only played Astlibra for 20 minutes) I would not get the Etrian Odysseys and Batens Kaitoses over these. TO Reborn and Strange Journey are all timers

Yeah if i get the BK or EO collections it’ll be to take advantage of the sale now and add them to the end of the queue… but adding 5 extra massive games to the list just sounds like a very exhausting prospect, especially with LAD8 on the horizon. I’m sure they’ll be on sale again at some point
