after enjoying grimrock a few years back ive been meaning to play eye of the beholder. bought that bundle on steam with the pre-configured dosbox and automapper, can you rebind the keys to wasd? i gather this is numpad controlled and… i don’t have a numpad…

if you press ctrl + f1, you can open dosbox’s keymapper
dosbox staging’s docs explain the ui better than I can but you can remap almost any key to almost any combination of keys in the keymapper

I really liked the original Metro 2033 years ago, and really disliked Metro: Last Light. I haven’t played any of the redux versions. Anyone care to opine on whether Exodus is any good?

i rather liked it but it will depend on your tolerance for the specific vibe thing it is doing in the story / cutscenes. i dunno, i guess it is a “wifeguy” kinda thing. for some people it is a dealbreaker. i didn’t love it exactly but i was intrigued by it

there is a very peculiar cultural tone going on in exodus which is pretty different than the first two. i think the game was pretty enjoyable as you do all the metro stuff you normally do, with bigger maps to do them on. some nice setpieces early on.
politically and culturally, i don’t really know. it is fascinating to me, an imbecile

Personally I found the pseudo “open world” maps to be exhausting and far preferred the way the original game was traditionally stage-based. The story stuff was sometimes charming, sometimes bizarre, always goofy, I was ok with it.

I love the usmc guy in that game who forgot how to speak english so in the russian dub he has a heavy accent and emphasizes all the wrong syllables on the words and in the english dub he just sounds like average american military gajme character who often jump scares you by speaking relatively fluent russian in steve blum voice

Yeah, the switches are rapid fire. Off/fast/super fast. Adjusting turbo on the fly is very useful in games like Bonk.
II is where B would be on an NES controller. I is A.
I do not think many games use III-VI. Maybe only fighters? Can’t think of anything else that does and I have played a lot fo PC Engine.

yeah, buttons III-VI are rare enough that the picture of the gamepad you posted has a dedicated switch to switch between 2 button mode and 6 button mode
