Quick Questions XVI: Answer Time Lore (Part 4)

? ? ?

okay, you play Probius like how you play Protoss in SC2

you pick a lane and be forward with your pylons to establish your stake there, which allows you to not die as they regenerate your shields and let you summon cannons

you can use rifts to push, poke or for escape since they slow but generally you don’t want to push out too far because you have the HP bar of a wet napkin and are a huge gank target

but also consider: you could play Gazlowe instead. pick Robogobo as your heroic and just be an asshole bruiser with turrets

I think probius is better to play as a burst mage with W build. from memory. but it’s a difficult build so you will lose. but you’re playing a moba so you already lose anyway

my loophole is I don’t actually consider HOTS a real MOBA

HOTS is a hero brawler™

it is a sort of ‘not nerdy enough for warhammer’ gateway drug into whatever you actually are nerdy enough for kinda genre

the diversity of opinion on this important topic is an example of the reason why I keep coming back to SB, year after year. keep it up SB!

I was going to post a question here that was “what was that indie game where exactly one NPC was fully voice-acted but no other character, including the protagonist and antagonist, had VA”… but then I remembered it was Blanksword’s kickstarter demo. So I guess I’m wondering, has any other indie game done this?

IIRC of all the generic human NPCs standing around town in Sonic 2006 giving you broken time-wasting quests, exactly one is fully voiced.

what/how is ‘Hello Kitty Tag’ on Switch? Would it be appropriate for a middle millenial who cares about neither Duck Tales nor Ben 10?

From this year-old post on the GameFAQs forum someone listed

For ones you can play without guides regarding the language and be fine are
Relics
Thexder
Xanadu
Silpheed
Hydlide (both versions)
Marchen Veil I (Though I wouldn’t recommend as the story is one of the more notable aspects of the game)
Yokai Tantei
Hydlide III (it has an option in game to make the text English though it’s a bit rough.)
Dragon Slayer IV
Tritorn
Topple Zip
Xanadu Scenario II
Undeadline

There are a few if you just wanna say you beat the game and use an online walkthrough (not recommended if you wanted to actually read the dialogue)
All three Ys games
Xak
Shin Maou Golvellius (this has a fan translation)
Popful Mail (complicated cause there’s a good PCECD walkthrough but isn’t 100% 1-1 the computer original)
Seilane (this one is 100% not recommended, why would you even play a text adventure you can’t read? Just watch the walkthrough and save your money)
Asteka II

I had a thread about a lot of.them here on SB. Didn’t cover them all, but yeah.

Here: Walking on EGG(Console)Shells

That list is also missing a few (Revival Xanadu, and Revival Xanadu II, which is actually a totally different game than Scenario Ii, even if Revival is a remake of the original) (Also a couple versions of Zanac and like two other Compile shooters)

Oh hey, apparently this week’s EGG Console is the MSX port of Xanadu I, which has some decent changes, but I would say Revival Xanadu is the one to start with unless you want to go full pervert and start with the original.

yes I believe thats the correct answer, just checking!

ok also SB:

in the UK office, what dialect/accent does Gervais do as David Brent (‘Northerner’, ‘Londoner’, a bit more ‘London-er Londoner, etc)?

Probably just middle class Londoner, maybe South London? I think Gervais is from Reading (on the outskirts of London) so naturally speaks that way though the character is an exaggeration of a manager with all those affectations
