it’s not a perfect (or even good, really) movie by any means, but i thought the ray kroc biopic with michael keaton did a pretty good job of dealing with this topic. it wasn’t till they started getting into that aspect of it that i really understood why someone thought that would make a good topic for a movie.

What if God of War didn’t have you play as the worst designed character?

Tan Kratos is actually a better design yeah

The over-simplified (and prolly technically wrong) explanation of polymer plastics that I was given is that they exist as hard media (monomer) that makes it strong and a plasticizer/solvent (elastomer) that makes it bendy and soft. Its like sticky ropes between grains of sand.

Its sort of a material that reacts slowly all the time. Either 1 the mix is perfect and it persists as manufactured, 2 the elastomer envelopes or dissolves too much of monomer causing the bonds to break down and it becomes goo, 3 the elastomer evaporates out leaving only the monomer as a powder or a brittle rock or 4 the elastomer keeps reacting and forming bonds between the monomer particles and it gets really stiff but is otherwise ok.

I think your wires have chosen #2, the goo option. Ive heard people suggest rubbing a baking soda and water paste on the plastic to stave off self destruction. This did not work for my sticky slime controller.

Anybody know the deal with the maximum video length on YouTube?

I’m hoping to do an NES FF1 play-through and figure I’ll probably upload it episodically session by session, but it would be nice if I could in the end upload a single video of the whole thing (and delete the episodes so one or the other doesn’t get flagged as duplicate content?)–which for me may take about 40 hrs because I like to mess around.

BUT then I look it up and the official line is that the max upload length currently allowed–although admitting that at one point in the past it was unlimited–is 12 hours: Upload videos longer than 15 minutes - Computer - YouTube Help

Judging by dates on other sites copying YT’s guidelines, it’s been 12 hours max since at least 2019.

BUT some accounts are still uploading much longer videos to this day. The NintendoComplete account clearly limits their playthrough videos to just under 12 hours, for instance, but another playthrough channel, SourceSpy91, uploaded an 18 hour video - The Legend Of Zelda: Breath Of The Wild - Full Game - No Commentary - YouTube - just two days ago.

So eh, hm?

(YT’s wording on this rule is really poor: “The maximum file size you can upload is 256 GB or 12 hours, whichever is less.” Uh? Is 256 GB less than 12 hours? Just say max size is 256 GB and max length is 12 hours, if that’s what you mean! Sheesh.)
