All The Small Games Podcast (now on haitus) had Death’s Door as their mutual number 1 so now curious if any butts played it.
I played for a couple hours and it feels good and is thematically pretty cool. I got kinda bored, but I’m also bored very quickly lately. There’s not much mystery in mechanics, so maybe that’s why.
Extremely conservative Link’s Awakening Link to the Past fangame. Very well made, but with very little ambition.
The grim reaper workman crow theming doesn’t go anywhere?
Maybe if you’ve never played a Souls game it’d be more interesting. If you can imagine "Nintendo coat on Souls’ you have the story entire
The Link’s Awakening fangame I enjoyed the most recently was Minit. Precisely because it’s pretty ambitious to do something new with the formula
i’ve actually never watched driller killer outside of the one famous commentary track video hah, i guess it was based on the garbled glimpses of horror movie stuff i remember as a child? like the trailer for texas chain saw massacre on a vhs, which horrified me so much i never got around to watching it - just this inscrutable and nightmarish maze of people breaking through walls and dismembering each other.*
*same sensation i had from a friend’s attempt to describe what playing The Neverhood was like before my family had a computer!!
I am now more tempted just to stare at this idea until I get annoyed/enjoy myself.
~audible grumbling~
I bet I will fucking love Death’s Door 4 years from now
Hey if this was a Super Nintendo game I ran into, I’d probably be more fond of it. You could sub it in for Crusader of Centy and have a good hidden gem. Within context of our current abundance of B+ games, though, I find it enervating.
some colossal tyrants just want to watch your idle GPU cycles burn
I want a Tate-able monitor for my tiny ikea desk. Going to connect it to this aging laptop for the forseeable future.
I’m in Japan so slightly different market, with the pandemic I can’t even really shop around, but about how big should I be looking? 21 inch?
yeah, low 20s is good for something small but not too small that will spend most of its time rotated onto a desk mount arm
not sure what your secondhand options are like but it should be like $50 or slightly more for the monitor and another $50 max for mounting apparatus
I need a pair of earbuds with a microphone for online roleplaying. I cant order the yincrow ones from aliexpress so they need to be on amazon.ca
Just get wired microphone in apple earbuds they work reasonably well and there are a million of them.
If I want a 4K monitor in Japan it is from 500 lol
yeah it’s the same here if you’re looking at retail, but $500 retail 4K actually tracks with $50 secondhand 1080p
