every outrun game I’ve played has been too stressful bc of the checkpoint thing. is there one that lets you turn that off?
seconding Forza Horizon. you can just get in a car and drive around

I was gonna mention Forza Horizon but I thought the progression stuff would be too distracting and clearly if Outrun is too distracting, Horizon isn’t gonna work

I mean if the progression stuff doesn’t interfere with the actual driving experience like checkpoints do (ie abruptly ending the session bc you didn’t play perfectly enough) I don’t mind that
The progression shit is so awful and nonsensical that I was able to easily ignore it, spent all my time just driving wherever whenever without caring about whether or not I was winning ir losing or unlocking

only problem with forza is it costs $60 honestly
you’re probably not going to like the answer to that problem (game pass subscription/trial) but it does make checking out anything microsoft publishes a $5 proposition

The One Dollar for 3 months is pretty great and you can stream Blinx The Time Cat. You can even stream Forza if your rig ain’t up to it.
Extremely happy with the pile of stuff I’ve played in the past 2 months.
Warning Xbox Game Pass App might just fuck your computer for no reason as well.

at least in FH5 you can turn off all the progression-related UI and yelling DJ, it goes a long way into making it a better zooted hangout game

GTA Online is okay actually, but I forget what my trick was for getting on unpopulated servers
honestly just want a mod that takes out the story and lets me drive around as my cool, extremely enby character from GTA Online who owns nothing but an extremely nice car and a shitty apartment
