Are there any good post/recs/whatever on here on what to do with a Steam Deck? Got as an early birthday present and want to emulate shit but is there like a recommended Master Guide for that? (PS2&3 especially along with whatever Xbox stuff can be done)
I donât know a vid for stuff like that, but this is like an all-in-one package that loads you up with emulators and automates importing ROMs into your steam library. Itâs real nice and tidy.
The only other super handy thing I could recommend is installing ProtonUp-qt through the Discovery app in desktop mode. This letâs you add more up to date layers of proton compatibility than Steam automatically dishes out, in case a game doesnât work right out the gate. You can just go to properties of any game, check the compatibility checkbox and select Proton GE 7 or w/e itâs called and I bet that will do the trick if a game wasnât running right.
And for a LAN file sharing thing across your windows PC and your deck, one method I use is a Linux app (available through Discover) called Warpinator and a windows version called Winpinator.
Semi Related: What happened to the old selectbutton wiki? Wanted to know what weird PS3 ISOs I should download but I canât find the section anymore?
wtf i searched for that like 5 times, thanks.
I also checked the list on Backloggd and found a few you might want to look at. Nothing too out of the ordinary, but The Club should be remembered
The Club
Siren Blood Curse
Tokyo Jungle
Hot Shots Good: Out of Bounds
Valkyria Chronicles
Devil May Cry 4
Armored Core For Answer
Malicious
Vanquish
Edge
Skate 2
Dyad
Syndicate
Under Defeat HD
Drakengard 3
yes
SPELUNKER HD â!!!
The Club is an all timer! I put that in my top ten when we did that list project and generally I donât even like games with guns that donât shoot nails!
Google tanks results from websites that arenât HTTPS pretty hard recently so maybe thatâs why
It was fine like two months ago
I forget We wrote this.
Short Peace was the first thing I downloaded
are there any significant technical differences between The Club 360 and PS3?
I doubt thereâs anything major. 360 might have the slight edge in performance as it tends to at this point in the console cycle.
how much am i missing out on if we (me and gf) watch a playthrough of earthbound instead of playing it myself? asking for adhd and loved-one-patience reasons
I would sooner do cheats and/or emulator fast-forward to smooth over any gameplay hurdles. Thereâs a lot of charm in walking around and talking to NPCs at your own pace (even if that pace is faster than most). Thereâs not a lot of intended grinding and no overworld empty zone.
(That said, I expect you might find some of Earthboundâs schtick annoying-to-offensive so heads up itâs going to be cartoon racist and heteronormative. Itâs better in some ways in Mother 3 and way worse in others.)
Itâs very much a your own pace and such game. It is Dragon Quest with a different coat. Without you yourself fighting the random battles, talking to the NPCs whatâs the point?
Itâs also a 30 hour experience either way so fully possible on a playthrough or videos youâd get bored 2 hours in and never go back causing Earthbound to haunt you to your grave. In the corners of your room as you fall asleep âYou Never Finished Me. Booooohhhhhhâ
yeah you gotta play it yourself so you can put both your and your gfâs names in at the beginning. I speak from experience
For anyone using EmuDeck on the steam deck is there a short cut to swap save states because I canât find one
