at this point i think the crunchy fromsoft framerates are a character trait of the series and should be embraced. like if they idk really really reallyyyy cared maybe theyd do more to fix them its been like 10+ yrs. since demons souls but maybe thats not whats important. its cute when a game has weird frame pacing actually. put em in the framerate canon w/ sotc
given how fromsoft is Iteration: The Game Studio i figured theyāve just been dropping the same weird custom implementation theyāve been hacking away at for a decade plus
edit: to be clear while i think the weirdness isnāt intentional, the decision not to change it definitely is
yeah I gotta say, what little I played of the demons souls remake, the incredibly smooth framerate just felt off in a way that I canāt describe. especially because the original gameās frame pacing was so fucking chaotic.
Input lag is a weird justification given how much input delay already exists in their games.
Not that it really matters, the poor frame-pacing doesnāt significantly detract from their many other qualities
What accent does Cuno have in Disco Elysium definitive edition?
Bratz the Movie
On the other side of Our House Party

Incredible! Did you know that off the top of your head? The rest are bargain bin classics but that was a new one for me.
I thought it was Army Men but it didnāt line up with the art for that game so I started going through the NTSC Wii library covers alphabetically
I want to play the game with the cover i thought i could see.
(blue haired anime woman in green clothes with gold robot insects in a blue skies ruins world)
Wow, thank you!
Yeah, I thought I was seeing some blue sky mech situation! Totally did not fit with the other titles on the shelf.
does anyone have thoughts about Kena on PS5? i donāt recall seeing much talk about it here, but maybe i missed it. it looks like something that could be kind of mindlessly enjoyable, but it also looks like it could be really boring, idk. itās pretty to look at, though
edit: found some thoughts from Drem from a while ago, but would be curious about the final impressions of the game. since itās on sale now, iāve been semi tempted
Would you all say the differences between ROMhacks and mods are purely technical or are there also cultural aspects to it ā a different scene, different ethos, etc.
I would say that, because ROM hacks are always fully unintended by the developers, thereās definitely a cultural difference. It feels more underground, less accessible, and the people who do it tend to be intimately familiar with whatever ROM they are hacking.
Unless itās like, mario has a penis or whatever that shit is easy.
But yeah, I think thatās the major reason thereās a difference. Modding is āeasierā i.e. often still very hard, but given the slightly more open nature of PC games it definitely seems like less of a stretch than just like, breaking open a compiled ROM.
ive wondered if the open-sourcing of mario 64 would lead to it developing a id-like mod scene around it⦠but ig one of the big differences is the availability / usability of tools for doom / quake which idt have really been developed for mario 64 yet. maybe if someone developed tools to put doom / quake levels into mario 64 idk. just thinking aloud
Iāmā¦skeptical that would be the reason. There do seem to be quite a few Mario 64 editors and hacks already. Lack of official support for Kaizo stuff has seemingly not slowed it down. I think a lot of it is that making 3d platforming levels actually good is probably just really hard relative to other things.
Hi,
Whatās a good mp3 player for macOS that I can easily scrobble with that isnāt foobar2k?
