it’s technically competitive and the hardware is not very accessible anymore but imo point blank is the most fun multiplayer game on the PS1

Also I’m the only person in the world that believes this but Twisted Metal 1 > 2

it’s ok, I half think Bushido Blade 2 is better

Twisted Metal (either one) is probably the canonical recommendation though

I meant modern playstation but now I want to play these psx games

1 is better, it has a cooler aesthetic, but it doesn’t have co-op. it’s also annoying that the death match levels are compromised versions of the single player ones

You can punch a cop car til its wheels fall off and use those wheels to beat corporate goons to death in Fighting Force so I remember that as a bleary-buddied late night lobotomised SoR kinda PS1 co-op classic.

(I scrolled down and saw you meant modern playstation while typing that but I just want to invoke Fighting Force I guess)

Maybe Lovers in a Dangerous Spacetime?

magicka 1 & 2

Huntdown is a good coop run-n-gun (seems to be the first modern one that’s inspired by Metal Slug, which was the best run-n-gun series in the first place)

if things like Dream Passport aren’t ā€œgamesā€ (and therefore don’t qualify for being documented by mobygames, IGDB et al), is there a category for them? non-game console entertainment software? am I the only person who cares about them? lol

Is there any explanation for why the Castlevania protagonists are named ā€œBelmontā€? I really want it to be a horseracing pun but I’ve found no evidence to suggest it is.

No idea if there’s an in universe explanation but I’m pretty sure it started as an homage to Jean Paul Belmondo

Ah, The Hunter Will Get You. I literally just discovered that Pimoroni isn’t backed by the Mormon church, so I probably need to stop thinking about names altogether.

If I start a save file on my PS5 of the PS4 version of a game, does that save file transfer over to the PS5 version (Elden Ring related).

i think i recall reading in the ellen ring thread that saves will transfer from PS4 to PS5 for that game, so like probably? curious what circumstance has led you to this situation

Extremely cursed crossover

It can be fiddly sometimes but if a game offers PS5 upgrade, it can move your save over, because you could buy a PS5 when you’re midway through the game and want to migrate your save over. Games are free to decide if that is a one-way conversion (and then you lose the ability to play that save on the PS4 binary) or if the same save format is shared by both binaries. I don’t know what Elden Ring’s specific case is.
