Have there been any significant Xbox One releases this year? I usually get my brother some Xbox One game for his birthday but I legitimately can’t think of anything good that came out this year… Flight Sim isn’t on Xbox yet right?
Can anyone recommend Tales of Berseria? Asking because I feel like I’ve never gotten on with the series’ battle system but like the premise of Berseria
Berseria doesn’t really play like any other tales game. YOu got the combos and stuff, but the movement is all free roaming like Star Ocean 3. IM only a few hours in but the main character is very good, despite her outfit being not very good
I played Symphonia as a teen and now that I’m regressing I bought Berseria because it’s the first one that’s seemed interesting to me since I’ll get around to it eventually
I feel like every Tales game aside from Phantasia makes me acutely aware of where its budget was allocated and it’s definitely not how I would have allocated it
Speaking as someone who played Berseria for more than 10 hours, yeah, that was probably a good stopping point. The game keeps going, but it’s clear they’ve shown their entire hand by that point.
Like 30 hours into Berseria you get a island pirate fortress like the game was about to become Suikoden, but its not, its just an old dungeon repurposed as a temporary town that you leave and then go to the next dungeon the plot drags to into.
The game would probably be greatly improved if they dropped the plot entirely, and made it a collection of 4 hour bottle episodes.
I’ll probably give Berseria a miss. I think it’s a case of looking for a reason not to let my fleeting interest suck me into a 60 hour game. I tend to obsess over finishing games once I start so I suspect I’d just have bail anxiety for the whole thing until I eventually quit about 30 hours in.
