Quick Questions XIV: A Question Reasked (Part 1)

Rebuild of Xenogears 3.0+1.0: Fourth Upon a Time: Girlfriend of Damascus Steel: You Are (Always) Alone

I mean yeah a Xenogears remake should use the same assets, finish disc 2 (sorry formulasex) and rebalance stuff so it’s not such a chore to play. They Would Not do this, hence,

quick question: who is playing the rock of ages 3 and windjammers 2 demos with me tonight

damn i didn’t know rock 3 was out

i’m busy tonight!

it doesn’t look like you play against friends online in the windjammers demo, only randoms.

game felt like shit until i remembered i played the original almost exclusively with a stick. felt a lot better after i switched.

having 4 buttons vs. barely 2 feels a lot more complicated. not sure about it yet. i guess the new buttons ARE pretty situational, but it loses some of its pick-up-and-play quality.

does anybody know if the X/Y buttons on the SN30 Pro+ are concave? it looks like they are for the SNES variant, but the pictures for the black version look like they’re not. also, how’s the d-pad?

On the SN variant, yes, but only the SN edition

The D-pad is pretty good. Very similar to an actual SNES pad but slightly softer/looser. I haven’t had a problem with misinputs with it though. In terms of overall buttonfeel, it feels kinda like a SNES-sized gamecube d-pad rather than a straight SNES clone

Damn. I want the black version, but I want the concave buttons since I like to rub my fingers over the various areas of the controller as I hold it.

Thanks.

oh also in case you were wondering as I was before mine arrived: the triggers do not click. Also it comes with a rechargeable battery pack, but can also take two AAs if needed.

Would you say it’s about on par with the Nintendo Pro controller? $60 for that thing is outrageous and I sold the one I had years ago. (Meaning, is it good for Switch games and shit?)

I’ve never used the switch pro controller, so I can’t really judge, but I use the SN30+ for switch games and it’s great. Only catch is that it can’t wake up the system from sleep (all third-party controllers are barred from this feature)

My mind is way too fixated on wondering what the little directional nub feels like. I’m weirdly daydreaming about holding the console, curling up into a ball and playing Faselei! while listening to My Bloody Valentine.

I knew you would have all the right answers.

The little clicky nub stick on the NGPC is one of the top 5 greatest things in video games.

You can buy one of the cheap PDP fightpads to get some of that sweet clicky satisfaction in your life

I don’t recommend plugging it in or using it

I used to have one, I can’t remember how I acquired it or why or what games I had for it. Maybe just some fighting game and nothing else? Anyway I recommend it

i remembered that i had a sonic game on there, but then second-guessed myself because ā€œsonic on a SNK system? in the year of luigi 199x? that’s impossibleā€

but… it is NOT impossible. i should have trusted myself.

yeah, i think the ngpc could link up with the dreamcast or some shit?

i think it was a good idea. back another hardware developer’s handheld that you aren’t necessarily in competition with (sega’s last handheld at that point was pretty old, right?) and work in connectivity with the console you’re developing and save the time, money, and resources you would spend developing your own handheld and make money off of the sonic licence.
