OBS is what everyone uses for streaming, right?

I’m putting together a one-off thing as a gag for a conference I’m organizing

I’m at a point in my life where I pretty much only learn new things to execute huge idiotic gags

I’ll let you know

speaking of learning things for fun, i’ve been thinking of learning some programming stuff for fun. just to do some computer noodling as a hobby, maybe make some trans games etc. is this humble game dev bundle a potential good way to do that? what’s the best value tier if i want to learn say python?

i always feel like SB is the place to ask when i want to play some old PC games so what are some things i can try that really missed the boat on catching any kind of audience despite being good? i have had an inkling to play ultima underworld for years

Indiana Jones & The Fate of Atlantis?
Blade Runner?

Two of my favourite graphic adventures.

this is not video games related but can anyone recommend a lightweight and ideally free video editing software that is marginally better than the default mac quicktime editor thing?

i don’t need to do anything fancy at all, just shave off a few seconds here and there and split a longer video file into several different clips. i can do all of this in the quicktime thing but it’s all really imprecise.

uh you have iMovie right?

i deleted it because i am really pushing the limits of my hard drive space rn. i can reinstall if necessary but i was hoping there was something smaller.

oh you’ll get nowhere worrying about disk space with video editing, just buy an external drive right now

these are zoom files, the biggest one is like 50 mb

Lossless Cut is a great gui wrapped around ffmpeg that’ll let you snip a video without re-encoding. I use it way more than heavy software because usually I’m just trying to isolate a bit.

where did it pull that picture from

oh wild I was not at all aware of that because I just use cli ffmpeg and I was trying not to be exclusionary by recommending that

The project owner’s github profile picture, which is kind of a weird choice

Is that chosen by the Discourse embedder, or is Github offering that up?

probably discourse, not sure how consistent its choices around onebox are when it’s not just a gravatar
