Are Wii U’s value ever going to appreciate or it’s status as this weird failed console gonna keep it low forever like Sega Saturns?
It is crazy they didn’t make spare gamepads.

Low forever IMO as almost all its games got ported elsewhere
All that’s left is like……… Xenoblade X. Zombi U. One Paper Mario no one liked.
Even the failed SMT x FE x #Idols game got ported
A few games probably had their best version on the Wii U thanks to the second screen but I just don’t see it as enough at all
There’s also Devil’s Third (Fart Noise) and Nintendoland.
Nintendoland is really delightful but no idea how it is since they shut down miiverse since my wii U has sat in a closet for 5 years.
When’s Wind Waker Switch?
Zombi U got ported to PS4 and Xbox as just “Zombi”, so that’s one less. Really XBCX is like the only one now that hasn’t been ported.
i’m surprised Wii U doesnt have more value just from a pure jailbreaking perspective. you get wii u/wii/gamecube all in one without too much fuss.
Devil’s Turd
it’s powerful but clunky. a hacked wii is a very stable, easy to grok experience once set up. wii u is like interminable quirks and annoyances such that i don’t really wanna fuss with it. especially with cemu out there stealing its thunder!
I want the wii u price to go down more! keep hating the best version of the wii everyone so I can justify buying one to play a single wii game on
For me, the capabilitiy of the Wii U to let me play old Nintendo platform games on the gamepad screen is priceless
How are the switch ports of Dungeon Encounters and Voice Of Cards?
I was looking around earlier and noticed that Disco Elysium now has console ports that after much effort have been patched into somewhat more solid form, so I was curious if anyone has any experience with them and if they work as a console/controller experience? I assume the native PC version might be better, but it’s also a bit newer of a game than my aging PC can likely comfortably handle and I don’t see that changing in the near future given how expensive PC gaming has gotten.
they did put out an update specifically designed around making it more playable on old pcs at some point
spouse ran through it on a 2014 laptop with a Celeron dual-core and whatever Intel’s bottom-barrel integrated graphics were
ran at like 15fps with no lighting, but
it never crashed
My gf is playing the PS5 port right now. Performance is great. The controls are a little weird, but she’s making it work (with occasional frustration). Instead of using a cursor like in the PC version, you have to use the right stick to select objects to interact with. Sometimes in a busy scene, you have to scroll through a bunch of objects to get to the one right in front of you. It’s a mild annoyance but it’s workable. The original PC controls are definitely preferable.
How much do I lose, really, by not playing RE:VII in VR? It’s on sale for a pretty good discount in the PSN store.
Without VR it’s just a really good RE game. By your fourth play through you’ll be running around with an infinite ammo rocket launcher and stuff.
With VR it’s that but in VR.
RE7 (and to a lesser but funnier extent 8) is just a really good modern approach to survival horror, like the whole package is exciting and thoughtfully done and the VR only adds to it. it’s still good without and underappreciated regardless, but it takes a delightfully competent experience and makes it superlative
