Quick Questions XIV: A Question Reasked (Part 1)

It’s a bit of a complicated flowchart the list of things to check that might have gone wrong there. The first thing in the flowchart is always simple resets: rebooting both the router and the PS4, deleting and recreating the network configuration on the PS4, unplugging and replugging cables. Beyond that it’s hard to be too specific with what you’ve said so far, but the next destination is that your router’s self-hosted website contains a lot of toggles and diagnostic information, so I would look there for anything suspicious. The issue could conceivably involve any one of DHCP, DNS, NAT, wifi bands or wifi signal strength.

Is there literature on the problems converting ttRPGs to PC? I know dungeon crawling kinda sorta works, but I’m interested in like things lost in translation. things found later. Etc etc

There is that definite 90s Americans trying to ape toriyama amateur drawing style but is there like Japanese amateur trying to ape rob liefield of the same era?

when are they gonna make an etrian odyssey for the switch?

honestly Liefield and his detailed, stiff, confused drawings were the main thing I thought of as I read Hokuto no Ken and its collection of immaculately-rendered beef without a single joint to spare between them. Obviously it predates the '90s American comic wave but I’m curious if it reflects something similar, a second-generation of less formally trained artists raised on comics to view their distortions as a baseline.

as far as i know, the only time japanese fandom of american superheroes has really had a spotlight shone on it in english is the one-shot zine justice from antarctic press. because things went a lot slower back then, it mostly covers stuff from the 80s. (the japanese fans were a few years behind what was being printed in the us, and antarctic press were a few years behind the japanese fans)

so the answer is: maybe?

and the ttrpg tenra basho zero has a clan of npcs who are the 90s x-men and spider-man. neither of these are an answer to your question, but

I’m starting to worry the answer is never.

I hope the people in charge are not under the misconception that “draw your own map with a stylus” is so crucial to the experience of Etrian Odyssey that it’s not worth making another now that that form factor is out of fashion.

it’s also worth noting that the etrian odyssey guy just finished directing smt5, so maybe once that comes out they might return to it

I tried to buy a domain on google. Which I guess I succesfully did, because it works. But then my Google Pay was denied and verification failed so google pay is suspended.

I contacted support about cancelling the purchase which didn’t help at all.

I tried looking online but I seem to be the first person this has ever happened to.

Google edge case troubleshooting is notoriously mirthless, if something doesn’t work for you specifically you can just give up on it ever working

Yes but now I am stuck with this domain locked on google, working, but not being able to pay through their arbitrary system.

Would I get any value out of buying an MT-32 and hooking it up to a modern computer?

i think you can use a real mt32 with x68k emulation, so maybe it’d be a good excuse to dig into the x68k library

you can use a raspberry pi and a little hat nowadays if you don’t want to source the actual synth
