Quick Questions XIV: A Question Reasked (Part 1)

you have to hold the button down to ready him iirc

yeah i hold the attack button down and he’s ready but he never attacks, ive tried lettijg go at different times or trying button combos and i cant figure it out

you both have to be on solid ground when you do it, and on the same elevation, i believe

there are a few possibilities, but it would be very unbecoming of us to gossip concerning those matters

so let’s have a poll instead

  • Madame Broodal has had multiple husbands.
  • Madame Broodal has multiple husbands.
  • Madame Broodal is a licentious howler.
  • Madame Broodal adopted (some of) her kids.
  • The other Broodals are, somehow, not her kids.

Super Mario Wiki says Madame Broode is their employer, not their mother

this is a baby question but i’ve read conflicting things about it so does anyone know the optimal emulator/settings combination for minimal lag on mother 3 so i can play with combos? sorry if this should go in the emu thread

VisualBoy just sucks and will be laggy. That’s the way it’s been forever and it’s a pain in the ass wrt Rhythm Tengoku as well.

Try retroarch mGBA core but when I used it to play Pokemon Pinball it didn’t have the best input response either

Is PSVR worth it please give a score out of 5 disembodied hands.

Yeah I imagine testing emulators with Rhythm Tengoku is the way to go.

People somehow managed to play through it on emulators 10 years ago.

It me

I did it. You can just grind through your inability to follow the rhythm. It sucks but :man_shrugging:

I played through it on both a GBA flashcart and an early GBA emulator for Android (“gameboid” or something) c. 2011 and I didn’t find the latter less doable than the former. I find you can generally mentally adjust to being half a beat off

I would really like one of the American Genesis Mini’s 3 button controllers. I will amazon you a retrobit sixbutton pad if you would mail me one of yours.

that said I think the android emulator was almost certainly using VBA source because that’s what there was at the time and Android isn’t known for its low latency even now, and mGBA, especially if you have the means to use runahead, is probably much closer to perfect, like maybe 1 frame off, and the execution window isn’t that narrow

i really need to mess around with runahead sometime

Wait why

Does anyone have any opinions on if Radiant Historia for 3DS is a good remake or not compared to the original? (it’s on sale right now)

At a glance the new art character seems more generic then the original but willing to believe that it’s still a Strange Journey Redux situation where the game system improvements still make up for it.

Pinging some people who seem to have played it?
@iguferon @Tulpa @GherkinForce @GlamGrimfire

there’s some new content (a bonus dungeon and a bunch of new nodes), the portraits are worse, there’s voice acting, there’s subtle qol changes like being able to push stuff in any direction instead of only left or right, and there’s two new difficulty modes. if you ever got sick of having to fight the same battles every time you time travel there’s a “Friendly” difficulty that lets you kill enemies in one hit with pre-emptive strikes while still getting the loot and xp that I think really benefits the game
