Nvidia Shield. No performance problems since it’s a relatively bulky and high-end one instead of a stick. I got it in order to stream games from my PC to my TV, but it also does all the usual stick-ish and TV app things.
If I wanted to stream a bunch of Retroarch games to my TV (and maybe some steam games too) so I can play on the couch instead of sitting at my desk, is the Shield (or Shield TV) still the best way to go about it? $150 is steep but if it does what I want it to do that I haven’t been able to solve cheaply so far (allow me to easily play my PC from my couch using a controller that connects to the box instead of my PC without too much lag) I’d definitely invest.
I have it plugged in using a wired (Moca) connection on both the PC and Shield sides and it works fine with that. I can’t necessarily vouch that it will work well enough wireless if that’s how you’re planning to use it, that depends on the context and it doesn’t have an overwhelmingly powerful wifi antenna, just a normal one.
I’ve started Ace Combat 7, having never played one of these before. Is it recommended to play using the standard or expert controls? I imagine standard is much easier to get to grips with, although I can imagine expert may be a better overall experience?
Expert for sure. I think they’re the same as “standard” controls in previous games but they renamed them for some reason? It shouldn’t take more than a few missions to figure them out, and the added maneuverability is very worth it. The game’s fully beatable with standard controls, it’s just that expert lets you beat it with cooler moves, which is always important in videogames.
Does anyone have any stories about Aaron Schwartz or any of the things he did? Not necessarily personal stories with him (maybe?), but more like… if he and his work affected you. Maybe wrt games? Maybe not. IDK
I have a song stuck in my head - I can hear it from front to back, but I can’t place it. I’m pretty sure it’s some town melody in a famous game, but I can’t find it when I search or listen to things I’ve recently heard. I have whistled the beginning to the best of my recollection:
Can anyone help me identify this? It’s probably some frickin Zelda tune and I just can’t remember which one, or something.
is there something special in Neo Geo CD games that would make them desirable as opposed to just normal Neo Geo roms? as far as my idiot self knows you are getting load times and there is no original games on the system.
most importantly a few games have amazing arranged soundtracks, and neo turf masters has an extra stage comprised of a mix of difficult holes from the other courses (scotland i think? something like that)
