ok but like, I live with folks who are going to this thing, and I don’t want them catching covid and bringing it back to me. Do I like, call the CDC or something? What’s the process, here

earthbound halloween hack would like a word with this post

I mean yes, but to be fair, I said “before undertale”, not “first”

I think it’s under the jurisdiction of the municipality. Depends on the local law and what the local police department wants to enforce. There’s not really any national lockdown in the US except at the level of suggestion.

As Broc says, enforcement of any “gathering size limitation” would be handled by your local PD. Unfortunately, unless your local jurisdiction has some sort of regulation in place to try and limit gathering sizes to a certain number and has a history of enforcement of this regulation, there aren’t any enforcement agencies that can help you. If you do happen to live somewhere with both, the group would likely receive a fine at worst but would most likely just be asked to disperse in the case the cops were called and actually decided to do something about it.

If it’s being held at a restaurant that is planning on breaking some regulation in order to host your family you could theoretically try to put pressure on the owner via law enforcement, who would be more likely to shut things down if they got fined.

My alternative is to change all the locks while they’re gone, so like…

if all else fails you could, uh… live in a hotel for the two weeks after the event

what’s the best/least bad version of persona 3? portable?

pretty sure it’s portable yes, though some version on ps2 has an extra epilogue game? or something? that’s not in portable? i don’t think i quite know what i’m talking about, but something like that

portable’s femc route is well-written and appealing and the option for full party control makes the combat (somewhat) less miserable, so that’s the one imo

FES has a bit more content.
P3P is more menu driven/visual novel-y in a way that makes it a bit smoother to play nowadays, it also has some QOL (easier) tower stuff. there is the full party control, but i hate that and think it was a bad addition even if it makes the gameplay a bit nicer. and yeah, you also have the whole femc route - which is probably the best way to play the game in 2020 if you aren’t specifically looking for a classic p3 playthrough.

Yeah there’s either

  • Persona 3 FES with an extra epilogue and an explorable city
  • P3P with a girl protag and menu city

Not sure but I think both have party control?

People on the internet seem to like FES more but I vastly prefered P3P

The girl protag is amazing and the extra epilogue from the FES version is meaty but not memorable at all
YMMV on the menu city but I love it. The game goes by much more quickly and the explorable city was never really great

i played through the game in P3P, then later picked up FES to play about in the full world and check out the epilogue. both of those things are cool, but considering the length of the game, the menu based p3p is a far nicer experience.

There’s not really a definitive version of Persona 3? Persona 3 FES is an expanded version of the original on PS2 with an entirely new set of dungeons that is harder and more conventionally MegaTen-like set after the original game, and PE3P has an alternate story as a girl that is written largely assuming you know the plot of the guy’s route, and IIRC, walks back a lot of the more interesting narrative beats of P3?

I’d personally just go with Persons 3 FES, since the game is already 100 hours long. But other of course, may feel different.

First time hearing about this detail actually! Was just under the impression that FeMC had a bit more of a fun personality that would occasionally come through and a several of her S-links were more interesting. Huh…

Oh no since unlike the later personas this is even more explicitly dating game, you only get straight romance options with party members. So the guy route only gets the girls in the party, and the girl route only gets the guys. You can’t S-Link Junpei as a guy, for example.

So it’s supposed to be a reason for old time players to return to it, more than just like, an alternate option.

aegis…
