Just gotta say much love for mpv, been using since someone recommended it here a couple years back and it’s so minimal-clean, also extremely capable granted you look up any tools/mods needed. Rarest of occasions VLC gets pulled up for some particular function but it feels so good not having to rely on after all this time.

It’s weird to me how threads on this forum so closely parallel the rules of a certain mechanic in Outer Wilds in a way that would spoil a large amount of the game if I even elaborated on what I meant by that.

beetle psx core and pcsx2? are the patched pc ports of 1/2 any good?
since there are english versions of anime, tokusatsu, videogames, and manga volumes exclusive to the region, does anyone know if there are any english language videogame or manga magazines in south east asia?

I’ve had a lot of weird issues trying to run metal gear solid on beetle psx core
there are probably better options but you’re likely in for a lot of settings fiddling before you can just jump in and play

the problem with emulating metal gear is they use pressure sensitive controls which no modern controller has and it’s a pain in the ass to use an old ps3 controller with the pressure sensitive feature working in pcsx2.
I guess I’m just waiting for the 360 version of the hd collection to be emulatable. I think the 360 port used some extra button to lower the gun when it’s raised

that goddam ps3/ps4 controller program for windows drove me insane, every other day alt-tabbing me out of everything just to tell me “I’ve got the latest version” I couldn’t find any way to shut that off. It wasn’t worth it just to maybe someday play mgs 2/3. I went back to a xbox controller

Does anyone have any recommendations for learning JavaScript and SQL?
I teach JavaScript using Eloquent JavaScript. It’s good – it nearly perfectly triangulates readability and correctness (vs eg why’s ruby tutorial which was cute but maybe not so useful) and largely avoids all sorts of nerd-tics that i (we all?) have no patience for, such as memes, star wars references, bullshit “random” “humor”, etc.
