and as for SQL, unless you want to be a DBA any half hour tutorial followed by looking stuff up as you go is pretty much fine
if you know what a primary key is and you can do, like, a select with one join in it, you have enough of the basics

I started playing Celeste earlier today since it is free this week and… am I supposed to play through the B-sides once I unlock them or is it something to come back to after I finish the main campaign? I’ve only played through chapter 1 and its b-side and like… b-side is hard y’all.
Play the B-sides after all the A-sides imo
Is the general silent around Desert Child even if it is a Game Pass game a sign that it is unremarkable?
It’s fine, stylish, but the racing’s not great
lot of stuff in the devolver sale I’m interested in:

has anyone played heave ho / pikuniku / my friend pedro?
I figure I’m due to get katana zero and ape out regardless
pikuniku seemed really cool from the one time i opened it, but i’ve never gone back
I’ve heard nothing but positive things about Pikuniku, plus I remember hearing it’s anticapitalist.
it’s definitely anticapitalist
I thought it was nice but pretty slight. It’s a light-touch adventure game that controls like a platformer, with jokes pitched at ‘cute’ more than funny. If you’re looking for something pleasant I’d go for it.
hmmm nah
I got all the rest though! jesus
For SQL, I’d recommend messing around with Google Sheets SQL instead of a proper database. It’s a lot easier to see what’s going on and why, and also is more practical in real life when your task is on the one-time/ad-hoc side of things.
Is there a perfumes and scents thread.
Has anyone played Black Desert Online? It just got released for PS4 and highly customizable pretty musou* is a thing that
Please compel strongly either to take it or not take it thanks you rule
*it’s not really musou, but there’s a lot of grinding mobs
Musou? It’s just a somewhat more action focused MMO unless it drastically changes after the first five hours.
I played for about five hours.
It’s character creation is cool but also a lot more limited than you think at first, too. Every class basically has a subset of looks but you can’t go outside of that (admittedly very huge) subset.
is there some thread or post that is like the definitive vpn recommendation thing. i assume this question has been asked a million times. i want one that works and also doesnt cost money if that even exists idk. else ill just keep getting my zips and hopefully not get deported idk
NordVPN is good if you want something cheap and functional that is specifically good for evading an ISP copyright dragnet
I probably wouldn’t use them for anything other than my torrent client but they fit just fine there
I have a few extra logins I can share with you
Apparently a bunch of VPNs were caught keeping logs, reselling bandwidth, etc. So, be careful what you get.
After this came out, MULLVAD was allowed to sponsor [H]ardocp’s operating costs, for a month. And when asked about it; Kyle (owner of hardocp) said they had vetted MULLVAD as a VPN which had not been doing that stuff. MULLVAD is not free.
I don’t think any vpn thing is free. I went with nordvpn, they’re supposed to be in panama so that makes me feel like an international criminal.
torrenting through a vpn is so slow though. these torrent speeds are honestly a more legitimate reason for violent armed revolution than tea tarrifs or having a slave economy and slavery looking like it’s on the way out in the rest of the world ever was
The definitive VPN recommendation is don’t use a VPN. They all have the possibility of either selling your data, being honeytraps set up by or in collaboration with cops or hackers, attracting extra cop attention (on the something-to-hide basis), or being themselves hacked. Fundamentally it’s adding an extra point of infiltration to your connection so it increases your risks.
