I’m glad we’re having a talk about learning Fightgames because I’m also new to any deeper play than button-mashing as a kid (which leaves you with such a bad taste in your mouth).
everyone’s advice to you is good! but also I totally see your point because capcom super duper dropped the ball on the newbie player front
it’s been said in the main thread but yeah I don’t really understand how in 2016 sfv ships without a tutorial that’s more than super basic stuff
(I do understand it’s capcom cup but still)
In addition to what everyone else has said, playing the game is really one of the worst ways of learning fightman fundamentals. It’s much easier to work on execution in training mode where you don’t have the pressure to do something.
Yea, I haven’t even attempted to play an online match yet; just been training with Ryu on the grid for hours on end.
I’ve been attempting to complete all of the trials for Ryu, and so far I’ve completed 6 of them. On Saturday, I practiced so much that I got a pretty big blister on my thumb, which actually turned out to be the best thing to happen to me. It caused me to quit pushing down so hard on the d-pad, and then a light bulb turned on above my head.
I know; i’m an idiot for not realizing that the game isn’t asking me to mash those quarter-swipes as hard as I can, but now I understand they require a minimal amount of pressure done with great speed and precision. That hadn’t occurred to me for some reason, so now I feel like an idiot for my stupid post from earlier. Having a lot of fun, I’ll now be lurking the main thread for your pearls of wisdom.
Players learning how to use an arcade stick run into a similar lesson: you don’t need to “ride the gate,” pulling hard against the guides. You have to use just enough force to consistently trigger the micro switches.
What’s the best way to get a refurbed OLED Vita these days?
I remember seeing people post images of dungeons they designed on twitter. They were two colors maybe black & red. Very cute. Anyone remmber this? I want to see it…
Thanks. Yeah. That’s perfect! Thank you
Also Dungeon Decorator
is there gonna be an emoji suggest feature for thread titles
also how do ia cces them
I don’t understand either question.
By the first, do you mean having emojis to the side of thread titles like how some forums have smiley faces or other icons? Do you mean the forum suggests emojis to include in the thread title based on keywords? Perhaps you mean the thread title form when creating a new topic should have the same autocomplete emojis feature as regular posts do?
As for the second, do you mean how do you access emojis? To my knowledge, they are all in the same :name: format, ex:
:pig:
:rocket:
:skull:
Aside from poking around with :, there should be a smiley face button at the top of the posting window, which will open the emoji selection. If the bar with the smiley face isn’t there, look for a button in the upper-right of the posting window, one that has three horizontal lines.
yeah weird it hasn’t popped up before until I got on at work
J-PSN is having a stealth sell on all SNKPlaymore releases. This includes Orochi Saga and Metal Slug Collection PS2. Can anyone explain if there are feature or functional differences between say NEST Saga and the individual releases of 2000, 2001, 2002? Or Metal Slug Collection and the individual Metal Slug Collection. I know the DC KoF games had some bonuses that I don’t think were in the PS2 ports. I also know the MS3 PS2 port has a whole bunch of bonuses but I’ve already bought MS3 TWICE this year.
Also are the 3D PS1 SNK fighters at least cool trainwrecks?
Besides the King’s Bounty revivals, are there any imitators of the Heroes of Might & Magic formula?
what, like Disciples 2?
I’ve seen Legends of Eisenwald described as a low-fantasy HoMM, and Etherlords is a hero-based TBS/RPG made by the company that went on to develop HoMM5.
There was an attempt to make an open-source competitive version of HoMM’s tactical battles, but I forget its name and don’t know if it ever took off.
I had success getting a translation from here before, so I’m going for it again! These are 4 separate CPU logic categories from two Fire Pro Wrestling games. I’d like a rough translation of the categories pictured in the images. I think they were flipped in order in the second game so I’m trying match the categories up.
The first game:
And in the second game:
Thanks for any help.
So if I really liked Resident Evil 4 but feel like I haven’t played a game yet that really scratches the same itch, will The Evil Within actually manage it?
