i finally started playing this the other day
i picked The Boy
i’ve gone to two clothing stores so far and neither of them have offered my boy any shorts
feeling like i might have made a mistake

whaaaat
but
they’re so comfy, and easy to wear
Everybody here who’s playing FESS UP
I picked 64 because I’m a nerd
I actually just picked 5 because 5 is my favorite number
486 is my favorite 3 digit number so i went with that
420, reporting in
i beat the third gym and have settled in to the general rhythm of Pokémon faster than the last few games.
feels like it’s maybe the easiest too, but i like the camping and curry making enough. perfect game to zone out to during this holiday season
also why does most of the music sound like it was leftover material from Sonic Battle?
25 in tribute in shinsuke nakamura
42 because i’m also a nerd
I used to like going with 573 but not so much anymore
booyaka booyaka 619
Oh you can pick a jersey number in this game? 314 would be mine
Next game should have ur character wearing a customisable sukajan that just uses old sprites as the embroidery
I discovered that The Boy does have options for shorts – they just have to be from the sports jerseys you can purchase. Fortunately, the components of the jersey can be worn separately (even though they can only be purchased together).
I have now reached the point where I am sufficiently satisfied with my silly boy’s look to get that tingling feeling of (mostly aspirational) self-identification.
…aaaanyhow, this is the first pokemon game that has managed to capture my attention beyond the first 30 minutes (or: it’s the third one i’ve tried). The fancy graphics do a lot to draw me in to this world of colorful animals that I had used to dismiss as being anemically characterized/paced in all other respects. (I do wish that I could articulate my opinions on this game less shallowly, but aside from the garfix I think what’s changed is less the game and more me.)
This paragraph would be some sappy thing about how I grew up during the original pokemon craze and my 3rd grade class had a massive, cacophonous argument over the spelling of “Pikachu” and I saw firsthand stuff like my elementary school banning the card game (temporarily IIRC) and how I never really got into the series etc. etc. and how my interest in the series for the longest time was limited to playing Jiggs in Smash Bros and (recently) cultivating a modest collection Jigglypuff paraphernalia etc. etc. and how this game has kinda made me turn around w/r/t this multi-billion dollar media empire — however, I’m on vacation and there is no way that I’d type all of that on my phone’s keyboard (except wait i just did lol), and also I don’t want to oversell my opinion of this game that I am only *checks notes* 1/8th of the way through.
the ghost gym is a highlight so far, all the trainers are really jumpy (presumably from being tormented by their pokemon) and the boss fight is against a 30 ft tall gengar that rises from the earth with its mouth open like a massive tunnel
No third version or half-step sequel this time. It’s all DLC now. Concept art compilation:
2 packs with a new area each. Both sold together for 30 bucks. 200+ Pokémon from the old gens being added in. Free update will let you trade for those or transfer them through the Bank even if you don’t buy the DLCs.
If you update your game now you can meet and catch a Galarian Slowpoke.
honestly I actually like it this way better. I never played any of the third versions because I didn’t want to buy the whole game all over again.
The third version thing feels like this is what they always wanted to do with it anyway
Missed that there will still be exclusive stuff to each version. For example, in the first DLC she will be the rival for Sword:
While Shield gets this:
