The music in this game needs to chill the fuck out, but I’m really enjoying this in its early movements. It was a little slower-going, and the way the rival’s mouth animates is a little weird. I think skipping every other generation on these things helps me enjoy them more.
My character actually sharing the screen with the wild Pokemon running around in the grass is doing a lot for me, tbh.
i’m spending all my money on clothing which is clearly what the devs intended. no you’re running out of healing items and poke balls

i was surprised to hear haruko ichikawa (author of land of the lustrous) did character design for this because, well, it’s a kids game, but oleana definitely has that look huh

i was excited for this game even though ive never been excited for non-cartoon pokemon outside of GO
but then i realized everything i was stoked over what are basically animal crossing features and its because im just very excited for animal crossing and havent played a new one in forever

Being for kids has never been a factor for artist choice. For example all the goofy rubber monster designs in super sentai/power rangers tend to be done by people who also specialize in terrifying and/or obscene monster art.
