Oh yeah, comic book people should be listening to Silence! With Gary Lactus and The Beast Must Die.
There’s an episode where they’re both at British comics con Thought Bubble and just recording as they sit at their table selling their own creator stuff. They are incredibly hungover and just ranting vaguely about some hippies selling some novels at a table opposite. They make up a whole saga of rubbish; The Shit Pipe Chronicles. Funniest thing I’ve ever heard.
Also worth it for The Beast Must Die’s truly brutal takedowns of Mark Millar and Neil Gaiman.

I have listened to a bunch of The Shrieking Shack which describes itself as “a podcast for lapsed Harry Potter fans” and is about two such fans going over each book chapter by chapter, talking about what still works for them and what really hasn’t aged well. They meet my podcast host criteria of being funny and non-obnoxious to listen to, and i appreciate the tone they strike — they enjoy stuff from the books without seeming like apologists, and are critical without seeming like they’re just reaching for easy slams. It’s a good balance. They also talk about dumb shit JK says on twitter, extended media like the game adaptations and Pottermore, and Weird Fandom Posts, which i love because i have an endless appetite for people saying completely wild shit on the internet

*(the annual podcast about watching paul blart 2 that goes on for all of recorded history where the hosts are replaced when and if they die and are currently the worst idea of all time guys and the my brother my brother and brothers)

The episode 0 teaser had me refreshing my feed every day which was bad. However, it also got me to revisit my favorite episodes which was good. Listening to The Relentless Picnic is a great way for me to get outside of my head. It’s priceless.

up a few years back several people in this thread mentioned the Duckfeed.tv podcasts, and just wanted to confirm that at the very least, Gary is good peoples (never met Kole but he seems nice too). i hung out with him a couple of times in person when i was still in Portland by pure coincidence because he knew someone else i knew and found him to be very friendly/nice - and this was before i knew of his podcast at all.
i’ve since listened and their podcasts are still somewhat too vanilla mainstream gamery for me in a lot of places but i find them far less obnoxious than almost anyone else in that space and i appreciate that a lot of this stuff isn’t really for me at the end of the day anyway. with podcasts like those i always want to jump on and offer my contrary opinion, lol - maybe one of my fatal flaws. they are generally very pleasant and chill presences though. they did do a little mini-podcast series about the band REM that i enjoyed also: https://www.fileunderwater.net
