Here’s the monsters of the first floor:
#Ares
Garcis’s subordinates forcibly woke up the spirits that were sleeping peacefully in the world of the dead. Then he pushed theses spirit into the corpses of the heroes who had resisted the evil magic and collapsed. The monster created in this way is Ares.
As a spirit, this is a nuisance, wandering in the darkness in search of a haven that shouldn’t exist within the labyrinth.
Some say that a sad cry can be sometimes heard inside the cave, and that this is the voice of Ares. I’m just fighting to protect myself, but I don’t want to let my guard down. I want you to be careful.
Bat
Originally, they had their own magic, and was not affected by Garcis’s magical power that much. Perhaps because of this, they often act of their own volition.
It can be said that the bat will not cause harm. However, there are many lightning bats flying over our heads, and we are often so distracted that we are unable to defend against attacks from other monsters.
If we can figure out why bats are the only ones that are not affected by Garcis’s Magic, we will be able to seal away his power itself. This is why passionate magi continue to investigate this creature.
Ochre Jelly (Jery in the book)
If you thought it was just viscous black glowing water, you would be wrong. Ochre Jelly was originally holy water used in churches. However, Garcis took advantage of this and poured the organs of the dead into the holy water, using his tremendous magical power to give it life.
The clear water gushing out of the spring turned black in an instant. The Ochre Jelly approaches without a sound, which is how it swallowed Yujo and his friends. Its movement is slow overall, but it can be quick when attacking. Also, be careful of the acid it spits out.
Bee Giant
The Bee Giant is an insect that has received the magic power of Garcis and has become gigantic.
When Xanadu was known as Paradise, the bees used to fly around the sky in search of the nectar of beautiful flowers. However, that fairy tale was short-lived, and now the bee has become and enemy of warriors, forever wandering in search of blood.
The Bee Giant’s greatest weapon is poison. Its poison is not fatal, but acts fast. The moment any creature is stung, it feels as if it has been poisoned, and will fall unconscious, becoming prey.
It is said that the sight of a herd of bees flying in a dimly lit cave instantly sends a chill down the spine of even the most courageous.
Goblin
A mischievous little demon that lives in forests and mountains.
Goblins hate the sun and prefer darkness. These are normal goblins, but inside the labyrinth world, they change. In groups, goblins will attack anything that moves. The sight of their countless red eyes shining as they squeal in the dark is truly eerie.
Even a seasoned warrior would be surprised for a moment.
Skeleton
This skeleton was brought back from the underworld by Garcis, using magic that summons the dead. If left in the underworld, the souls of the dead can become Ares. It is said that if this happens, the flesh becomes a zombie, and the bones become a skeleton. In the labyrinth, Garcis magical power can only reach a certain range, limiting how far a skeleton can move.
As a side note, the skeleton seems to have magical glasses. If you win a battle with a skeleton, it would be a good idea to steal these glasses.
Boalisk
A venomous snake that originally lived in the tropical jungle, the Boalisk has slipped into the Xanadu realm. At first, it was thought to be a new species of snake, but recently, its origins were determined.
These fast green creatures never attacked humans when they lived in the jungle. However, in the labyrinth of Xanadu, they have turned grey-white, and will attack anything that moves, probably because they lack food.
The Boalisk wanders around the entrance to Xanadu cave, which has good ventilation. It would be best to watch your step when entering the labyrinth.
Fire Elemental
The flame that can be seen at the entrance to the labyrinth is the Fire Element. The spirits captured by Garcis writhe in agony, using their grudge with Garcis as fuel for their flames.
The corpses of heroes and monsters who died a regretful death at the hands of Garcis lie next to this monster. Garcis, afraid the souls of the corpses will reincarnate as his enemies, turns their souls into monsters such as these.
To avenge their regrets, I want you to put an end to this monster.
The book also includes a really detailed list of stats for each monster, including all four variants of the monster, their defenses depending on which side you hit and elements, and even something called Combat Action Type, which is just an unexplained number.
