Norman Skye

It has full real co-op now, no more orbs. I only tried it once and got very confused though, couldn’t find the other person

i definitely get a sick pleasure out of the process of constant restocking, but also there’s a nexus where you can interact with random players now and one of them gave me 10 warp cells

I didn’t mind having to constantly gather resources when I played the game initially. But I guess I wanted to focus more on exploration the second time around.

I wonder if the things I discovered/named back in 2016 are still identified as my discoveries. If I remember correctly, I only ever found evidence of two other players. But I also remember thinking that even that was statistically unlikely and maybe they push you toward planets where others have been.

If anyone wants to meet up for full real co-op on PS4 one day, let me know.

you can also build a base which will automate some of the processes i think! i’m still working my way to that point though lol

there’s teleporters now too which means a lot less warping to go back-and-forth. but also i’ve really found myself going back and forth a lot more than i used to

damn this game looks awesome

you can just play it with your buds now right

can you share a spaceship with them

probably not i guess

Really weird how this game is still being developed

Like I played it a year after release and everything in this article is completely incomprehensible to me

I’d definitely feel weird if I worked on this because the original theming holds some truth in it – that space is vast, endless, and cyclical, and we can’t find someone out there because we’ve already got ourselves.

Everything the community has asked for and they’ve granted has been the exact negation. People prefer space to be knowable, conquerable, homeable, shareable.

And players are happier, but now the game is…much closer to every other popular game that people like.

Thank you for summing up the feelings I could not put into words about this game

And now they’re fighting over it!
(Which is also the inverse of the game’s original message)

No Man’s Sky is really cool in vr just FYI.

at this point i would not be surprised to learn that the development plan for this game has itself been produced through some kind of unending procedural generation process. like there is an alt-universe where no man’s sky has continued to receive updates that are similar to this, but not identical.

it’s called, ‘being responsive to your audience’

the conundrum: your audience is GAMERS

the apotheosis of this is ARK and the follow-up Atlas which luckily bombed and saved us from the worst of the bad future

yeah i love that they put time and care into this game and i hate that it justifies the terrible behavior of asshole gamers
