Gimmick is like every NES game that people swear up and down is hard except it’s Actually Hard and just wrapping your head around the star physics to do all the secret stuff to get the good end is just

the people who speedrun Gimmick are either wizards, masochists or both

Right, it’s hard in a non-artificial way, too. It’s not about cheap kills or damage sponge enemies. The challenge is completely about how to use the star effectively

I’ve never played a nes game for the writing. what nes game should I play for the writing?

such an alien concept to me, reading and playing nintendo games…

I only beat Gimmick once and it was worth it

Developer Fumi Games is also listed as co-creating another upcoming Silly Symphonies-like, Galaxi Taxi:

(^ 1 year old, slightly different than the video on Steam v)

These would be their first non-phone games. Fumi Games – Indie Game Dev Studio

It seems likely that they’re related to animation studio Fumi Studio, also based in Warsaw, who released a Galaxi Taxi (film?) trailer five years ago:

sincere answer:

tho i admit in either case it’s more the games being off-beat than the writing per se i guess

yeah i like both those games a bunch, and its for being off beat like you said. i guess they are more narrative driven and interesting than other nes titles with lots of words

I’m not going to say to not play the Memorial collections since they’re very accessible being on PSN and they were on JP PS+ for a while but they really botched the sound emulation in all of them

Gimmick really suffered but that’s really the only causality since you can play Silius on the Switch for 8 dollars a month and use save states to not fuck up the autoscroller at the end of the game no this doesn’t happen to me shut up
