So I saw a new game today named The Forest Cathedral that appeared to be a wandering around puzzle game, except instead of puzzles you play little platformer stages on various screens set up around the place.
You can also carry one around that converts the environment intoā¦ stuff(?) on a screen you carry around.
That seems like a neat little basis for an exploratory first person experience thing, and then I read the story bit.
That is enough of a random twist to get a game mentioned here!

i played a demo of this game awhile back. it wasā¦ strange. but not in the way you think. it was like fairly standard indie game in one way but there was like this weird visual effect happening in the forest area that was hard to describe. actually not only is this guy named Brian Wilson (which is strange enough) but his previous game Where The Bees Make Honey is this bizarre twee walking sim/narrative game that i really donāt know how to take. it seems to be pretty janky and fail at what itās trying to do, but also maybe not? i tried to make the case to other people as sort of outsider art because it seems tonally pretty absurd/self aware to me and i found it enjoyable in a strange way but i seemed to be the only one who felt that way. actually iām not really sure the intentions of the creator at all tbh. itās also published by my that Whitethorn Digital guy who was super aggressive about picking fights with everyone criticizing wholesome games on twitter and i have blocked on twitter. lots of different chaotic energies going on there.

Yesterday I liked a game because of its unusual narrative, today I link one because it is gaudy as hell.
There are points in that trailer that are just a mess of colors I can barely make out (1:28ish for example) and I think I love it?

This is actually fucking me up. @B_coma apparently did some VA work with him and had a nice twitter thread about it. Baltimore nativeā¦ these kids just canāt catch a break. The way Black men in this country just drop dead in their 60sā¦ it grinds away at you after youāve seen it enough times.
