Number three now…I guess these games are popular.
I’m chuckling at the thought that Voice of Cards might be turning into Square Enix’s lavish equivalent to Kemco JRPGs.
there’s rumors(?) that there are 9 of them in total. maybe originally planned as a mobile game, but then split up and sold on console instead.
since I preordered I’ve been quietly observing the Steam Deck subreddit and it is currently in the midst of a total meltdown about being “scammed” because dbrand (the accessory manufacturer that insults you in its marketing for some reason) have released pricing and options for “project killswitch” (their uh, case for Steam Deck) and it wasn’t what redditors thought it would be (they never stated a price, so, uh)
oh, reddit, never change.
I haven’t touched one of these in a loooong time (I have a few installments sitting around in my backlog thanks to various freebies/sales but I have never brought myself to actually sit down and play one).
I look askance at any of these nowadays but
Mirage will put Valhalla supporting character Basim Ibn Ishaq in the lead role, feature a more condensed world to explore, and focus primarily on stealth gameplay.
It’s very funny that the first leaked image from this appears to be inspired by hyper orientalist 1001 nights stuff, and also doubly funny that the Kotaku article mistakes the plot/setting of the 1940s Hollywood movie for the original story, even though that would make the protagonist still alive 300+ years after his appearance in Valhalla. But, Baghdad on the eve of mongol conquest would be a pretty interesting setting regardless. Maybe too much/just enough synergy with Ghost of Tsushima
Kind of cool that Taito is putting out an sd card expansion for the Egret II mini to demonstrate expandability that hasn’t been seen in that kind of product but it works out to ~$62 us for ten games when those Taito Memories discs were $20 for 20 a pop…this one has Pulirula, Slap Fight and Gekirindan though
hmm, wonder if you can just pop some rom zips on a card and go to town?
I’ve seen a twitter thread about being able to get retroarch running on this but not sure there’s a way to just pop some on with unhacked hardware
playasia are moving into publishing, supposedly with an emphasis on reprinting old games, and translating (asian-developed) games into more languages
Riding Fight @ 1:33
I know that the single most common game request for the past several years was for someone to finally make a cel-shaded stealth kart racer, well thankfully someone has finally granted all those wishes.
Sadly, last time I checked a few months ago, their Twitter account is still super Goober Grape-y, so yeah.
Yeah, when I ordered something last year they threw in some card with a “fun fact” about how their mascot was about to turn 18.
damn, 2022 really is the year of the frog-type game
A worthy successor to the Year of Luigi imho
