Is there a chance that Deathloop will see a PS4 release?

i stand by picking up a series s last year being the best possible decision for ‘current gen’ console gaming.

Yeah if my PS4 died that might be my move, or if I get bored and try to do retail therapy

yeah having spent time with a nuxbox and a ps5 it’s hilarious how much better the xbox seems. shit like being able to have multiple games open and flip between them or the gulf between the xbox and ps5 controller (as much as i do think the ps5 triggers are hilarious) make it seem like an easy choice. except that it’s so easy to have a huge ps4 digital library already so that’s a big ymmv i guess

with a lot of luck i was able to snag a Series X a while back and i haven’t regretted it at all. a game pass machine that can play some newer stuff like Forza 5 at great settings is really all i need from “current gen gaming” at this point

even if this series s had just been replacing my base ps4, and didn’t play any new games, the quick resume feature genuinely makes me play more videogames. it’s incredible, i moved house and was still able to plug it back in and resume 3 different games from where i left them.

hell, forza 5 is gorgeous at 1440p on the series s, i don’t even mind the lower framerate on good graphics mode because it’s rock solid

This just seems like a lesser version of Thronebreaker to me, but I guess that underperformed?

Hello it is me the world’s only Thronebreaker fan

Yeah this does seem like an attempt to redo that game while capitalizing on the “Gwent” brand name. Also check out that word “roguelike” that they threw in there, whatever the fuck that means in this context

Hey I thought Thronebreaker was really good too and I don’t consider myself a fan of deckbuilders at all! The pulling back on focusing on narrative (and the roguelike part lol) makes this sound pretty weak for sure.

I let out a thronebreaker this morning

I kind of regret getting a PS5. My reasons were:

  1. Already had a ton of PS4 games I hadn’t played yet and only had a base PS4, so a PS5 would play the games I already own better

  2. Traditionally Sony has had more exclusives I care about

Well, point 1 has borne out, I can indeed play some games with better performance. But point 2 has been a real bust (outside of Returnal, which totally rules). The PS5 is embarrassingly large, and its gigantic controllers are bad for my hands. I def should have gone with an Xbox. Them’s the breaks!

yeah i’d say, after just having gotten a PS5 a little over a week ago, and having had a Series X since the winter, if you aren’t super swayed by PS exclusives (actual, scheduled, or imagined), the Xbox feels like the real next-gen machine at this point, and understands how to really bridge the gap between the “this is a game box” vs. “this is a media box”

quick resume, better controllers, more customization options are all things i miss when i’m using the PS5 (which, to be fair, i have been playing exclusively since i got it, but like, idk how long that’ll last)

also it’s a very pleasing black box that just sits tall under my tv

i think my main reason for getting a Series X stems from basically picking the Xbox Family of Digital Downloads last console cycle (microsoft has fairly regular digital game sales) and what i lost in not being able to play online with some friends or Death Stranding i have now made up for by having a pretty sizeable collection of games that i can dig into now with better framerates and no load times

I just wanna play the damn demon’s souls remake. I don’t care if it sucks, I just want to play it.

FFXVI and FF7 Rebirth (lol) are the reasons I see myself wanting a PS5, but I had really hoped that there would be a new model and/or price drop some time in the console’s first three years, but given that some random fucking store having a small inventory of PS5 units is still newsworthy, seems unlikely.

I don’t know if I can ever pay $500 for a console.

The PS2/PS3 era had lots of manufacturing shrinks throughout their life that the PS4 didn’t and the PS5 won’t, hence the end of truly “slim” consoles. The best that’ll happen is slightly better cooling or a version with extraneous features cut out. A slightly faster “Pro” model is more likely

Microsoft launched a cut-down model out of the gate with this explicit reasoning because they couldn’t make the math work on dirt-cheap Xbox Ones, and they’ve been rumored to have a streaming stick/controller bundle in the works for a couple of years
