I love the style guide that makes it mandatory to write U.S. ARMY in all caps in promotional materials
Esports is french for āThe Sportsā
back in the day the korean air force had a starcraft team. korea forces mandatory 2 years of military service for men, so starcraft pros would retire to do their military service, which would consist of playing starcraft for the airforce instead of their real teams
We could end up with a lost generation of Harry Potter fans. This could be a good thing.
This looks like a bad interactive movie.
The good ones like Bandersnatch give you two interesting options that spark your imagination as to what will happen down the paths before you choose them.
The bad ones feel like a coin toss.
Probably the best example of good vs bad interactive movies is āIn Space with Markiplierā. Part 1 is great, part 2 is not.
The first part gives you meaningful choices and the second part repeatedly gives you the meaningless choice of going left or right, with no context to imagine what either choice means.
The part about him trying to raise compensation and treatment of employees is nice but doesnt FROM have a really bad turnover rate?
there seem to be a lot of these from the UK in particular. this company Wales Interactive publishes a lot of the ones iāve seen
and then there are the Sam Barlow games, of course.
basically i think itās a few companies that make a lot of this games rather than a lot of people trying to all get in on doing FMV stuff at once.
I did wonder about the fact that they all seemed to be from the UK
Samās company is actually based in NYC but yeah heās originally from the UK.
i donāt know though! maybe FMV games were just a bigger thing in the UK? or maybe they receive some sort of govt/arts/tech grant funding like in the example of Wales Interactive?
The UKās game scene around that time had a stronger infatuation with the hybrid model of real like and virtual worlds around then if you look into game shows around that time like Knightmare and the like, not surprising it crosses the other way into FMV territory.
Tim Follinās game was also FMV
Iāll always remember bernie stolar for vic irelandās somewhat one sided feud with him. good times.
Bernie Stolar dropped the ball with the RAM cartridge
X-Men vs. Street Fighter couldāve expanded the market
Did this crazy son of a bitch really keep 2D games and JRPGās off the Saturn or was that just some GameFAQs BBS bs
that isnāt fair, he kept them off the PS1 too
magine playing to your consoleās strengths
imagine having exclusive games your competition had no hope of hosting
crazy talk, letās sign some sports deals
