I’ve bought every HBS game, I am absolutely the audience for their stuff, and I didn’t even hear this new game existed. Was there zero marketing? It’s like they were looking for an excuse to gut HBS

yeah thats what im saying! like literally i fucking hate paradox they have always been a shit publisher going back to the way they fucked over mod teams they commissioned to make EU/HOI games and everyone sits their buying their 1000s of dollars of dlc like a bunch of fuckin clowns. i mean even recently they cut off romero games from patching fucking empire of sin, theres a WHOLE DLC PEOPLE PAID FOR they never got to make because paradox turned off the money. They only cares about their internal dev studios and treat everything else as a limb to be hacked off when it stops making money

I only knew about HBS’ new game (Lamplighter’s League) because a very specific youtuber obsessed with isometric turn-based games did a couple videos about it. It’s also on gamepass, so that’s where I sampled it. I think the price point ($50 for parity with like, one of their later Shadowrun games) probably helped kill it.

the special features list on this thing are truly out of control. they have commisioned new original music specifically for the deleted scene where spike and iggy do a protest rap against mayor koopa so it would have a proper backing track in it’s 4k restoration. truly considering spending 130 dollars on this insanity
