XeNTaX forum to stop by end of 2023
Unread post by Mr.Mouse » Fri Oct 06, 2023 4:03 am
As a heads-up, the XeNTaX Game Research Forum is currently scheduled to go offline indefinitely by end of this year.
We havenât found a suitable buyer to hand it over to that would be able to expand and build the site into something that it deserves.
Of course, if someone has an idea to get this still in place, via GoFundMe or whatever, we might be able to discuss a solution in terms of buying the site from us. But that needs to be driven by someone respected by our community, with commitment to make it work.
Another alternative is for someone to start a new site somewhere, that will be able to tailor to the same niche community.
Donât forget to join the Discord: XeNTaX to keep in touch with part of the community after the site goes black.
It has been a great past 20 years, and I appreciate that a lot of wonderful people still go here regularly to learn, get information and to demystify file formats, but there will be other options, I am sure.
Ignoring the ROG Ally on the bottom - Iâve never been less embarrassed by a video game set up. Before the ROG it was just a stack of coffee table books (because I donât have a coffee table). I canât think of a single video game console that could do this. The aesthetic moves are either 1) hide it like modern Xbox consoles 2) lean into the cyberpunky Master System III look. I guess the implied constraint is like⊠Modern living roomsâŠ? Idk
Edit: those ottomans lol
Holy Christ they shouldâve shown something next to the controller for scale from the start. Itâs a lot bigger than I initially thought. This could work.
9 buttons by default with 4 attachments is OK but only one stick per controller means youâd likely need 2 if a game doesnât support some kinda software workaround for simultaneous movement and camera. You can only buy 1 at launch which seems kinda self-defeating.

If you die in the game you enter a vegetative state in real life
Gonna be the first game with where you have to agree to the EULA and confirm your advance directive
(Actually thatâs fucking sick someone should actually do that)
why the fuck would you have invasive surgery to insert a first-generation piece of consumer electronics into your brain. any rube that would go for that probably has an nft portfolio. why am i so mad about this.
thinking about all those ppl who got second sight bionic eye implants to combat their increasing blindness who are rapidly losing their limited vision because the spare parts are drying up and every company that could help them is long dead
You canât expect car manufacturers to maintain their smart tech software even when this and so many other western capitalist countries love their cars, so I donât think itâs going to be much different about brain implants.
getting a computer chip shoehorned through my skull so i can psychically control the new CoD game with all the precision of a first gen Wii game
the thing âvisionariesâ in the video game âindustryâ donât quite seem to grasp is that all I really want is to make a little guy run around on a screen
but what if you could do that and then also die of an intracranial hemorrhage
similar to what i was thinking, and what i almost always think when this kind of thing comes up: âbut thatâs not what a videogame isâ
ok my concept for a new bubsy game is: Bubsy, but in order to play it you have to be a tortured psychic lab ape
bubsy but she fucks
Wolverine guest appearance so he can sayâŠ
âbub, she fucksâ
Bubsy and the enchanted bussy
you have played Deus Ex: Human Resources, i guess
