It works pretty well on my steam deck. I had both games when I was a 9 and I was very bad at them. Interesting to try them again as someone who can actually play these games now. I would not give Microsoft money for these remasters at this moment but I will take them for free and try them out.

Microsoft?

EDIT: Oh shoot I forgot MS owns Zenimax now who owns Bethesda who published the game. Sheesh. Well in that case I’m extra glad I refunded it after just not feeling it.

Also automatically added on gog.com if you already own heretic and hexen. Seems good. I’ll probably play some hexen on this, but I already played a lot of heretic using a source port. I don’t see a compelling reason to buy this if you don’t mind messing with source ports.

Oh for sure. I wouldn’t have paid money for this if I didn’t receive it for free from buying the ID software bundle back in 2006 when it was the first non valve set of things available on steam. I played it for about ten minutes on the steam deck before going back to play Power Wash Simulator.

at LIRetro yesterday, i saw some folks demoing this thing:

basically, they have partnered with Namco to rerelease their lightgun games with a new Guncon peripheral.

i didn’t actually try it out, but from observing others, it seems to work as intended.

their kickstarter has 12 days left if you have been wanting to play (edit: specifically four Namco) lightgun games on your modern TV

I’m so down for light guns coming back and being affordable but the only things I’d put money down for is if it came with House of the Dead, Virtua Cop, or the Sega Jurassic Park game

EDIT: Never mind, watching a playthrough of the Jurassic Park game and it does not hold up as well as my memories lol

yeah totally. i am kind of on the fence because i don’t necessarily need it but do think playing on a bigscreen TV would be nice. i wish Time Crisis was the PS1 version, instead?

also kind of a bummer that the unit is not upgradeable or will have DLC, but i really appreciate the spirit of the project and hope it leads to others following suit.

hell yeah micro prose time

This vid is mostly marketing bullshit BUT I am glad the game hasn’t been cancelled in the 2 years since it was announced. Still looks like it could be a decent Alien Isolation clone.

My biggest hope is that they keep the bit going, and make a complete isla nublar map that is contradictory with every other official map, as well as with the actual topography in-game.

I adore the look of that game (Nidhogg 2 was good! It was good!!), but the demo felt weirdly off. Hoping the final product feels a little better to play.

Increased NPC density is a funny selling point.
