Mystery Science News Thread 3,000

it’s more like you copy-paste a bunch of boilerplate code that no one understands from two branches of the same project semi-randomly and hope the inevitable compiler warnings can be safely ignored.

this thread just got so damn nerdy

I think I’d rather just use some off the shelf middleware or mod a pre-existing project

well, that’s the whole platinum / sega back catalog at this point!

and the list of reasons to actually need emulation of last-gen consoles is getting much smaller which is also good; I think I’m hanging onto my PS3 for demon’s souls, fight night, and red dead, and that’s it.

…does anyone want to buy my PS3?

Remember those folks that translated the obscure PC-98 prequel to E.V.O.?

They just finished Rusty.

I’m still pining for an Anarchy Reigns port for an online beat em up deathmatch that isn’t a moba(choose you’re own definition). Mostly because I missed the first wave of online play for it. It was practically dead by the time they sold it digitally. There was also some sort of death ball DLC game mode that I wish to experience.

this has a super-calculated design and a kind of irritating aesthetic but it looks pretty good?

I was going to say Afterburner Climax but that game is basically the only emulatable PS3 game right now for whatever reason.

Hmmph. Now I am going to need to turn on my Ps3 today and look. Catherine is the first that springs to mind. And I guess all the Yak games (4-6 total.)

What even was Afrika?

Not great, for starters.

afaik Demon’s Souls is actually fully playable in RPCS3 right now, it just has some minor graphic glitches and performance isn’t quite there, plus no online (also, when I tried it last week, it kept falling to mount its own filesystem somehow, but I think that’s my environment). P5 will probably be as accessible that way as Zelda is now by the end of the year.
