I found 4 so artistically bankrupt that I warmed quite a bit on this one, only to be occasionally baffled by the obvious blunders.

so, is tron run/r

a REZ where you can do more than just rail’nshoot or just a sham?

because i’d like what i see, it’s only that I cannot trust Disney them …

why is that trailer not 60fps, that’s what that youtube feature is for

anyway, can’t tell whether that’s just another endless runner or not from here, will be curious to see more

I think it’s just an endless runner, and far too expensive to boot

Yeah this is really a concept I’m down with

nobodies gonna do it better than st m8

this coming from the man that brought us R-TYPE FINAL, Bumpy Trot, RAW DANGER™®©, Disaster Report(s) and Sub Rebellion (and R-TYPE TACTICS, and Blokus Club and … yeah. Stuff!) - if it ever hits western shores, i will be surviving Ultraman, you bet.

well that blows

NH: Converting Streets of Rage into 3D as a huge undertaking, and the programmer in charge of the stereoscopic 3D work was at it nonstop for a month or two. When the project was over, he said, ā€œI’ve worked 48 hours every day. I deserve a vacation. Basically, I’m going to drop off the radar for two weeks.ā€

He first working on the 3D conversion of Sonic The Hedgehog, all while giving Streets of Rage a lot of thought as to how he was going to do it. With Sonic The Hedgehog setting the bar, it really put the pressure on everyone to deliver. He was very influential on the quality level we strive for in the Giga Drive 3D conversions. After those two weeks of rest, he came back, and as if turning in his homework over summer vacation, he handed over this program he’d been working on over his break. It was the entire first stage of Streets of Rage 2 in 3D. Putting aside the fact he didn’t actually take a break (all laugh), he had gone and made this. It was running on the PC, and while we weren’t sure we could squeeze down the processing to fit, not only did the diagonally scrolling bits work, it looked really cool.

YO: Everyone was shocked. I mean, the games for the second batch had already been chosen and locked in. He must’ve have believed we were going to do more.

NH: Who knows? I’m thinking that he did it because people said it couldn’t be done. He’s that kind of guy.

YO: So then back in the fall of that year, Horii-san stops by and hands me some 3D glasses and says, ā€œHey, check this out.ā€ And there it is. Streets of Rage 2 working in a development environment. (all laugh) He’s like, ā€œHey, check out this diagonal action!ā€ (laughs) ā€œHorii-san, you said it couldn’t be done, but here it is!ā€

NH: I wanted him to see it because we’d done it, but I didn’t think he’d give me such a hard time about it. (all laugh)

Is this him? Is this hero gone?

This is the darkest year.

no confirmation of an official collaboration, but at least we have a quote of del toro talking about kojima’s wiener falling off

Keighley quotes Del Toro as a well-financed ten year old but we all know who the real idiot savant is.

Going to rule so hard, please let this game get a physical release in the west

EDF 2 got a stealth release on Vita. I’d be more excited about it, but the gameplay looks identical to 2017.

EDF 4.1 also got released at the same time on PS4 (here in Europe) and I also bought it and it’s also the exact same gameplay as last time (with one new character)

I’m not complaining too much though, because I absolutely love flying around those lovely japanese PS2 cities in shiny full ultra HD. And levelling said cities with a plasma launcher.

I really wish they changed the armor/weapon drop system though… The game is 10% walking, 60% shooting and 30% looking for drops, and that 30% isn’t fun or interesting, ever. And you can’t ignore it either.

I’d like to master the tank-like character but I can’t see playing as anything but pale wing honestly. And her speed makes loot slightly less unbearable

Didn’t 2 have the Wing Diver as well? that would make a marked difference from 2017.

The Fencer is a lot of fun once you realize he is the melee character nobody thought EDF needed. Also basically a small mecha.

Yeah!

2017 had Wing Diver as an unlockable from finishing the game, and I played so much more with her that I tend to forget she’s not there from the start.

She has to be the best unlock in all videogames. Finishing the game unlocks the z axis.

I’m surprised this game hasn’t been discussed that much here, I had thought it was released at the same time in Europe and the USA because of that

In the 360 version? or the Vita version? Because I totally don’t remember her in the 360 version, and sadly don’t own a Vita.
