I’m vaguely interested in it, but probably not 50 bucks interested in it. Also the PS4 version comes with the previous game if anyone is wanting to play it on the console instead.
I’ll probably pick it up on a Steam sale if any friends are interested.
I played God Eater Burst (the upgraded version of God Eater 1), although I really only played through the vanilla game’s content and not the Burst stuff, and it’s alright. It’s not hard if you’re playing with AI partners and I always felt it needed more monster variety, both in types of monsters and the monsters’ attacks/behavior. This is a problem I have with all new hunting games and it’s probably because MH spoils you with its large roster built through years of iterations. The bullet creation system is cool but you’re not forced to use it and can rely on store bought stuff the entire way. I don’t know if the Burst content is better and how much God Eater 2 changed things because while I know it’s added more attack systems think it really just needs better monster variety.
Haha, I like playing Monster Hunter spawn but they all seem to have issues with being shallow in some respect. If you’ve got a PS4 there’s a God Eater 2 demo on the JP store. Now that the game’s out in the US on PS4 maybe there’s an English demo too.
I think this collection stops around 2001 or so (unless I’m missing something), but it’s also a good opportunity to mention that https://www.retromags.com/ is functioning again in full force and now has fairly complete issues of NP (and a whole bunch of other magazines, strategy guides and other ephemera) as long as they haven’t been published in the last 10 years. Their collection of Next Generation, for example, is now way more complete than it used to be when the site was out of commission. I think the lengths this guy has gone to maintain this thing are so great that I actually donated money to become a lifetime member and get downloads direct from the server.
Bought a cheap copy of Prey for 360 recently in anticipation of the reboot. While I’m happy they’re revisiting the franchise, I’m skeptical it’s going anywhere other than bioshock + space horror.
I’m down for developers taking a stab at making Bioshock Not Shit and I certainly trust Arkane with the task, even if (especially if?) they involve making a prop hunt game too.
