I’m pretty ambivalent about better call Saul having gotten literally 20 hours of pathos out of one plot point (they used to tell stories in 90 minutes! fucking dilation of leisure changing the standards for exploitative narrative structure) but that was really damn good.
Radio On is perfect at being a meandering pointless roadmovie. But y’all should really watch Radio On Remix which is 25 minutes of 90s super weird.
I didn’t expect the tone of xXx Return of Xander Cage to be so similar to the original. Or for Xander to get his fucking ridiculous fur coat back, quip like he’s written by Purvis and Wade, etc etc.
So Kinzie Kensington is in this, too. I bet Vin likes Saints Row.
I really want Vin Diesel to go Big Boss in one of these movies. Start Outer Heaven for Extreme Athletes Without Borders.
With Keanu Reeves as Johnny Utah and Nicole Kidman as BMX Boss.
I just got a good feeling about this one
Moonlight is an hour of how horrible growing up poor and gay and black is and then as an adult he goes on a date.
I’m shocked by how I have no opinion of it.
this was mostly my reaction too
it has a good father figure of a kind that I guess isn’t often seen in mainstream movies, whatever that means, and I don’t want to fail to appreciate that, but taking that aside I did feel like it was just good and then, well, idk
The only way I can understand this reaction is if I just conclude y’all must watch movies for reasons that are entirely alien and incomprehensible to me
2001 is a movie about some guy who gets fucked over by a robot in space and then trips for 20 minutes
Citizen Kane is about some jerk who is a horrible journalist
Taxi Driver is about a taxi driver
Do the Right Thing is about how much it sucks to be black in new York in the 80s and some racist pizza guys
Alien is about an alien who kills most of the people on a space ship
Apocalypse Now is about a guy who goes into the Vietnam War and meets a crazy dude in the jungle
I know you’re being sarcastic but this is a pretty good single sentence summary
They all are!
no, I mean, it’s really good
the rest are pretty surface level
that actually hits at the themes of the film
you’ve been reading rudie opinions on movies for so long and you’re only now picking up that his movie watching is alien and incomprehensible?
I mean i liked all those other films you mention asside from Citizen Kane.
It wasn’t boring but I sat there just staring. Like my major critical response to it is I had no critical response. Like if you would write about why you liked it than I would read it gladly.
I’ve seen Alien what is Incomprehensible about?
I disagree I guess but thanks anyway
I think I’d honestly rather hear more about why you didn’t
It would be 500 words of I do not have an opinion.
why don’t they have any guns on the ship
