anything external that those whose job is to place the chips on the table can use to excuse failure

why not just accept that you’ll inevitably resign in disgrace in five years and greenlight interesting products on the way out? these days you don’t get that high while retaining that perspective

the action in QoS is bad

everything else is the best of the Craig movies

the following two are like one long arc of apology for it; handsome stately garbage

skyfall is very handsome though!

It was pretty but felt incredibly hollow to me. Left basically no impression at all.

you didn’t enjoy the moore-esque macau scene, bardem monologuing in a featureless concrete building and albert finney as scatman crothers?

At SaltCon I’ll explain why the poker scene is trash garbage and will ruin the movie.

I mean it is that he has an incredible hand that Mads only had a more incredible hand and that Bond got shit for being a hothead and going all in is crap. It was a statistically really good move to go in when you have a pair of queens.

every time bond got shit in that movie for being a hothead it was crap. my brain would always shut off during TIME TO SCOLD BOND scenes so i don’t even remember ppl getting angry with him for losing the hand besides his date. who, as a woman, is there to look good and get pissy about everything

theres not much to ruin

blackhat is the best mann

Blackhat was fun because I got to go see it with a couple of security guys I used to work with, because they thought everything in it would be wrong in the way most hacking movies are, and there was only one (incredibly minor) detail that was wrong (a USB drive that was clearly not the thing they said it was, but even the security nerds who are usually pedantic as hell about that stuff were like “nah, that doesn’t even matter”).

Also the movie was some real good shit that I got paid to watch, so fuck yeah.

Embarrassed to say I’ve never seen a Michael Mann movie. Always thought they looked like macho bullshit, but it’s looking like I need to get over myself and watch one. Been meaning to see Manhunter.
