man, i’m not >:(
oo
i like that now that charlie kaufman has moved from being screenwriter to auteur his signature aesthetic is making everyone in his movies look like they have bad skin
thank you zach snyder
why are there so many movies coming out about horny archaeologists and paleontologists???
hmm yes interesting
what the fuck is happening
deep impact / armageddon but it’s dusty academics getting steamy w one another
this is the consequence of only letting the nyu graduate nieces and nephews of hollywood make movies instead of the deranged coke heads and former hippies of yore
imagine all of the other things a movie called “ammonite” could be about
that does look like the coolest of all of them though
imagine thinking you’re doing something by making a very chaste looking movie about smart lesbians in a world where the handmaiden already exists.

look at what they make you give
I never watched any of the Hobbit films but looking at this one shot from that video the colors look really spectacular and make me kind of want to watch them. Then I realized my phone has HDR and when I went to look at the same video on my monitor it didn’t look nearly as good. Still cool but not as cool. So I guess I’ll only watch them when I have an HDR capable TV or monitor
If you’re interested in the LotR films and that setting in general, I really can’t suggest against watching them even though they do straight up suck!! The first is the least worst imo, feels way different than the other two.
Yeah I do love the LotR trilogy even though I’ve only seen it once. I saw them all in the theater when they came out. I mean I caught parts of them on TV later on and they held up but watching them for the first time was such an experience that I didn’t ever dare to try and repeat that. You’re really taking the pressure out of watching the Hobbit films lol I mean I heard about the critical reception but that was still succinct
I’ll watch them when I’m in the mood for movies that straight up suck! (That’s more often than one might think) Glad that I can watch them suck in 4k at least though because my TV supports that
the hobbit movies are bad in the least interesting possible way for movies to be bad. there are some kind of cool sets in them though, either the second or the third one (?) is partially set in this weird floating town thing. it’s sort of like waterworld with hobbits?
the hobbit movies suck shit but i have watched them through twice, take that as you will
i have watched lotr maybe…ten times? fifteen?
It’s so sad when Frodo gets on the boat! I think about friends I have said goodbye too and cry every time.
hear, hear
what’s the story on these new remaster changes or whatever anyway, i’m only half-aware
