more context on the Annapurna stuff
meet ‘n’ fuck kingdom on steam is a day 1 buy imo
Can anyone wanna copy the good parts for me?

Only the most cowardly marketing team would refuse to end with CAN YOU BEAT THE MEAT? instead of pretending that they really wanted to all along
I think the best way for the Annapurna owner to recover from all this bad press is by sending me at least $300,000.
Fund DDD, Ellison, you coward
I can’t imagine a game will ever look as graphically impressive as VF3 did in 1996
impression i get from the annapurna stuff is that everyone working there sounds like they were just waiting for the inevitable seeming day when their owner would lose interest and can the whole division to free up funds for Zero Dark Thirtytwo: Legend Of Osama’s Gold, and that what finally got them to push the big red escape button might have genuinely just been kind of arbitrary and directionless executive meddling with no particular endgame in mind. which like… fair play to them if that’s where their heads were at, since it’s not exactly an unreasonable assumption in the longterm.
i guess it’ll be funny to see if they end up being able to set up a simular prestigey thing somewhere else or if anyone doing that kind of work in future needs to pivot to devolver or something instead. The Developer Of Maquette’s About To Make You His Bitch.

SimAnt is one of the first RTS games…
This billionaire family shit makes me literally sick to my stomach
I think it’s silly how many of these articles focus on Annapurna Films not being profitable…thats the only admirable aspect of an oligarch patron project.
SimAnt was big for me as a kid. That spider was so scary.
A local educational catalogue used to advertise Maxis collections. If it weren’t for this my game-skeptic parents would have probably never bought any games for me. Might have avoided all this… *sigh*
