I’m really, really enjoying this. It looks and feels like my memories and uh the original didn’t when I played it last year, I was surprised by how hard I bounced off it, this shit is smooth and snappy though, really unlike most RPG remakes, I just met Geno, it is weird seeing how naked he actually is, I guess dolls don’t really need pants though, it’s legal
The remake should add a bunch of fully clothed dolls to make it clear that Geno is a nudist
it’s so cute when he tries to walk and he’s all clumsy, it lends to how stiff his level up dance is
I’m super excited to see the boss challenge after I beat the game
delighted this remaster actually worked out to not suck after all

I was walking with veronica and saying like, if this is the first Mario rpg someone plays that’s FINE it’s great even. like if someone wants to go back to the original then good for them but like, the ONLY thing this game is missing is the font and the UI, which stop making you mad after you see the level up dance a bunch of times
but like people need to play this game for the updated boosters tower song alone lmao. it’s so good it’s like real music I said that already BUT IT IS
they didnt need to go as hard as they did for the soundtrack to this game good god. the battle song and the level up song were SOOOO fucking obnoxious in the original but in this game im like hell yeah whenever i hear a song from it
yeah the way they kept songs obnoxious but also made them more interesting (the different phases of the battle music based on your combo, the sheer amount of hornage in the level up song)
anyway i gotta kill three more milfs in ffxiv for a triceratops mount and then i can play a shit ton of mario rpg
plus the ff4 boss theme in this sounds way better than the fuckin pixel remaster version

rarely that you can almost grasp the feeling of playing a game when just reading about it, but this wonderful thread does exactly that - kinda think it taps into the same feeling we all experienced when we played our most beloved games during our formative phase(s), hence it’s so much fun even when we are relegated to a ‘last time on’-kind of recap*
*: which btw, is the BEST kind of recap, esp if it recaps things that didn’t happen or are outlandish. 
I have tried to play the original twice and stopped at different points. Once was the Yoshi Island rhythm game (I was playing on a keyboard in an emulator). The other time was when I got a gameover at a boss of some kind (underwater maybe?)
i think the wall boss fights in the game are like, the second croco, yardovich right after you get off of jonathan jones’s boat (which has a big water flood attack), and the power rangers imo
and that yoshi island rhythm game is ALWAYS bullshit. fuck it. its the worst. THEY LEFT IT BULLSHIT IN THE EXACT SAME WAY TOO which maybe im happy about, maybe ill be able to rage about how this rhythm game makes no sense for years to come OR some genius 12 year old will post a tutorial that makes everything click into place so i can FINALLY BEAT BOSHI

since i have to kill two more milfs all ive been doing is THINKING about mario rpg. this is the boosters hill track song i was talking about that WONT STOP ESCALATING it is incredible and hilariously frustrating when youre getting rocked by barrels and fucking snifits. it feels like the song escalates with the difficulty of the minigame but it could just because im open to musical suggestion. this is my favorite of the songs that i didnt like on snes (shouldbe timestamped) BUT JUST LISTEN TO IT GET MORE AND MORE FRANTIC
