Mentioned it elsewhere but let me also add to the ā€œat the very least the first 90 or so minutes of Isles of Sea and Sky is rather goodā€ chorus as well.

absorb energy from trees

use energy to make boulders and a robot to teleport into

keep doing this to get higher than the sentinal to push it over

take the sentinals position and ascend

I dunno why I continue to be fascinated by the goings on of Atariā€™s reanimated corpse

all the people who want to profit off of sad reactionary suburban guys in their mid 40ā€™s with kids and too much disposable income who are super aggrieved and will spend way too much money trying to force their kids to relive the glory days of gaming when Reagan ruled the universe are joining forces i guess. finding out who the target audience was of the Intellivision Amico was really sad to me.

This is kinda good news because

a) it took the original intellivision folk years to get all the rights back together before amico bought it, and there was a huge risk of everything being sold off separately to different people and

b) we might get an intellivision 50 style thing and that would be dope

Thatā€™s a whole lot of graphics.

It really would. The Minter one and the Atari one are so good (I didnā€™t play the Karateka one).

so do they want steam or do they want to call the steam deck 2 an xbox and take steam os/proton/anything linux out back

what if they just went full evil corp and bought valve solely to remove steam from existence as a way to boost game pass

Market predictions suggest console will phase out eventually as very young players play mobile/pc almost exclusively. I wouldnā€™t be surprised if MS are after established storefronts

itā€™s fortunate the US DOJ is pretty actively blocking mergers now: jetblue/spirit, kroger/albertsonā€™s, adobe/figma, hospital systems

all bets are off when microsoft promises them theyā€™ll release in the valley of the gods and ricochet 2 so itā€™s a win/win for consumers

iā€™ve been lurking the amico facebook fan group for a couple years now and this is really just the perfect description of whoā€™s hyped about this terrible project. a bunch of divorced dads thinking that their kids will finally love them if they can just play a new version of ā€œshark! shark!ā€ together on a tv on visitation weekends.

watching them squirm and make excuses and become disillusioned as yet another thing in their life falls apart has been fascinating.

feels very unlikely this would happen on Valveā€™s end, because they basically print money by owning Steam and i doubt Gabe Newell would have any interest in it. thereā€™s also basically no benefit to Valve for them to sell the company. they have such a sweet deal going and are sitting on a massive pile of money. i donā€™t know if Microsoft is just too stupid to know that or this was only ever just a rumor spread by random people.

this is also my hope that $16 billion isnā€™t nearly a high enough number but ive been surprised before
