I don’t like how that guy dumps his videos everywhere online without making attempts to engage in the communities he posts in, nothing against the videos themselves.
ooo cant wait for voice to work. loved that game i didnt even realize it was a fromsoft game hahah (if i played it when i posted on sb1 that probably wouldnt be the case)
There needs to be a gentleman’s agreement that no one use outside voice chat once they get it in the game…
MAME and Final Burn are a confusing nightmare. Especially through RetroArch.
found the problem right here
Yeah but this little handheld thing I have is just a Retroarch box basically.
don’t handhelds usually have everything set up already? just put the roms in the folders? or it gets the hose again
Yeah but some arcade ROMs just simply don’t launch at all until you figure out the exact arcane spell required.
I just use final burn neo, type final burn neo roms into google, the site that shows up at the top when you’re looking at an arcade rom will tell if the rom needs other roms to work, there will be a “rom parent” section and link to it. if something there doesn’t load anyway, which only happened once for me, I use that site so I at least know the names of the files I need and get it from myrient or wherever. assuming you also have all your bioses and firmwares and whatnot that should work out.
I tried setting up mame for 3d arcade games the other day but what a fucking headache. the version of mame in retroarch doesn’t match up with any romsets that I could find? I don’t have time for this horseshit. the more time I spend on shit like this anymore the more I feel the hourglass running out
on an actual pc, there’s no good reason not to just use mame on its own
get the latest version and the latest romset
crt shaders. especially in something like mame where different games might have different resolutions. nobody wants to bring up reshade and redial in the settings every single game. that’s also why as convenient as duckstation is retroarch is still just better. also the mame version in retroarch already had a later version number than every rom set I could find.
retroarch mame is awful though, it’s so bad that even retroarch is like yo don’t even use this. standalone mame does have shaders, but they are kind of a pain to use. just use shader glass or something, it’s not as comprehensive as retroarch native but it’s easy to use and good enough
at some point they got pressure sensitive buttons working in pcsx2 with an original ps3 controller, like it has in rpsc3, for a brief time life has become worth living once more
just going to not think too hard about how flimsy this sole ancient ds3 controller I have feels
He did engage with other communities. He was then removed from those communities as he repeatedly refused to respect the work that others were doing, who were planning on compiling a larger article with context, as long as he could rush out a video first.
There hasn’t been a new RPCS3 daily build in months.
They ran into a problem where audio stopped working in new Windows builds: [Regression] Visual Studio 17.14 introduces a compiler regression causing no audio on games on libadec HLE mode · Issue #17326 · RPCS3/rpcs3 · GitHub
They think it’s related to a new bug in Visual Studio, which is what they’ve been using to compile RPCS3 Windows builds: Developer Community
With no definite VS fix in sight, they’re working on switching their Windows build process from VS to Clang: Updating issues
I was wondering why there hasn’t been an update notification in a while.
I had to switch to OpenGL from Vulkan in a few games recently due to crashes. It might be bad drivers though who knows.
Hm yeah I haven’t noticed any recent Vulkan problems but I’ve been sticking to the same games for a while.
a great day for sick freaks everywhere ( cc: @shelter )
