The endless variations and deviations from MCU in current Marvel products seem very deliberate to me as a response to the corner Star Wars EU stuff got painted into
This way they don’t have to worry about continuity or even coming up with new ideas, but can continue to deliver product constantly
Canonizing the multiverse is just the post cinematic universe way of reverting to the 1980s model of license and sell the Shit out of wvwrything
Yeah, I think Marvel still allows videogamey videogames. It’s just that Crystal Dynamics and Square chose to make a Marvel Cinematic Universe game and only seemed to realize halfway in that they’d made a massive strategic blunder, unable to get the actor licenses but restricted to the visual palette of the movies.
Meanwhile Insomniac just pitched ‘a Spiderman game’ and hit a broadly acceptable videogame outcome while incorporating some of the tonal qualities of the modern movies.
God I love Grandia 1, this looks just slightly improved not tampered with, in fact the audio sounds better too though I don’t know if that’s actually happening. Like Justin’s V-Slash seemed notably less compressed.
That part of Battle 1 in common with Iwadare’s battle tracks in Lunar @ 2:00 <3
i think it’s a big shame they haven’t joined in the “first official translation ever” train and included a port of grandia digital museum. (grandia parallel trippers would also be eligible, but grandia parallel trippers fuckin sucks)
I forget all the technical reasons as to why original Saturn JP is superior and have wanted to play it with an English patch, think I posted about that a long while back. Ultimately with this version an option for original JP voices just meets the standard, so
In the E3 2019 show floor demo of Grandia HD Collection , the battle ability voices were in English despite selecting Japanese voice-overs.
