well hey that’s my light lvl too
actually i did have a go at solo-ing the pit over the weekend and uh lol
here was my strategy as a warlock, maybe it’ll help you? i tried a few times before and got too frustrated at the ogres/altar, but i was more deliberate with my build this time and did it easily.
weapons: izanagi’s, waking moment (w/demo), delirium, wendigo. masterwork is important.
armor: contraverse hold, lunafaction boots, 3 dawning armors, 1 opulence armor
mods: hive barrier, taking charge, protective light, charged up, rest was passive stat bonuses and ammo scav/finder
weapon choice should be self-evident. the main thing is i like having demo on a weapon because having your nade all the time in this dungeon is very, very useful.
armor choice mostly only matters for mods. you keep contraverse on you because you swap to devour tree voidwalker for the altar encounter and it makes eating nades fast and safe.
mod choice is to maximize your damage resistance. hive barrier ensures you always have damage resist, and the charged with light mods keep you from dying fast if your shield pops. main thing to remember is to pick up the orbs your masterwork guns make so you charge up.
encounter 1 (the three towers)
start as a middle tree solar warlock (well). pretty straightforward. take it slow and steady, clear all adds. for the boss enemies, you kill them with different sword abilities: guard for shrieker to reflect, sword projectile for wizard, and regular sword + ult for knight. you can guard the knight hits, usually do 2 hits + guard and repeat. sword knights spawn on the bridges so you can get swords from them. ogres are the major threat here, one iza shot can kill them
encounter 2 (the ogres)
this part sucks big time. it’s easy to get stuck in the caves and surrounded by thrall. ogres also love to just stand in front of the only exit to the cave. kill all adds in a cave and they stay gone for a while. grab the orb the cave knight drops. if you can’t leave because an ogre is blocking you, alt-tab for a bit and wait (seriously, i fucking hate this encounter)
encounter 3 (the altar)
swap to devour/contraverse and delirium (or another HMG you like). after starting the encounter, get a melee kill or eat a nade for devour. this will let you tank a lot of damage. use izanagi shots to kill the orb knights. make sure to stand on the altar to prevent wipe. upon dunking, two knights show up on middle balconies and need to be killed or they’ll wreck you. as long as you keep devour up and the altar pacified this fight is pretty easy. MUCH easier with devour.
encounter 4 (wizard shrines)
don’t fall or hit a trap. run to the wizards and kill them. was really easy.
encounter 5 (the boss)
same as the first encounter but there’s a jerk boss you have to dps. this fight is annoying but totally doable if you are patient.
swap to well for DPS bump + heal nade. swap to wendigo for the disable effect; it works on the sword knights, making them trivial. kill one of the tower minibosses the same way as in first encounter for an orb, then dunk at the boss. use heal nade + charged with light to tank hits if necessary. make sure to kill the thrall at the bottom before dunking or you’ll get surrounded and meleed to death. they like to hang out behind the walls. once all three are dunked, pop well in mid and dps boss. move around to avoid aoes and cursed thrall. repeat. took me 5 phases, but i as basically never in danger the whole time thanks to my mods + weapons.
lore drop lore drop!
osiris threatening rasputin by pointing a scout rifle at his central console is the goofiest shit
if they mixed up the spawns a bit so we get vex on mars i would kind of like that
not more than I would like some new factions of targets though
i just read all the posts since early Jan and you’ve convinced me to delete the base game off my PS4, thanks
the official thread for destiny refugees is this way, friend
one of the reasons i haven’t got back into that was no HDD space so yes you’re very astute
i feel like they’re moving towards the darkness as another faction to fight, but i’d love to see rasputin-themed vex
The only way I can make sense of the technobabble from Warmind about the “neural net” is that the javelin configures SIVA to suit the target.
I hope this time the big season community effort turns out to be a Faustian bargain for Trials back
You frickin fricks. When will you learn that your actions have consequences?
I was at a con over the weekend and is this a Destiny thing? It looked like a Destiny thing but I did some googling and couldn’t find a gun or armor that matched.
Helm is definitely Wing Theorem but jacked up
Nothing else looks familiar.
I wonder if it’s a preview of the armor set for the new PvP event next season? Bungie likes to partner with cosplayers for that sort of thing (see: the Japanese Destiny 2 dance-off commercial)
Edit: Armor is definitely Scorned Baron Robes with chains instead of razor wire
My clan leader found a stream where we won against the streamer team twice in a row and boy are they scrubby and mad lol. Called us slurs on air and false reported us.
yeah that sums up every encounter with streamers i had in d2 trials on pc
we went from expecting a loss because we were running with two lads who hadn’t touched a comp game since q3a was current to ‘eh up it’s streamers, free win’ p quick
it’s a game with a very, very low skill ceiling imo but if we did bump into bsk that would be the end of the ticket admittedly
I dunno if I’d say destiny 2 has a low skill ceiling. High skill floor, maybe. But good players are monstrous
yeah even destiny fun police made it look like he kicked my clans ass when we won the match a while back(i wasnt playing that game otherwise we probably wouldn’t have won because id just emote at sheik the entire time)
most people are fucking awful at online first person shooters, and destiny streamers with like 15 viewers are even worse. i wouldn’t say destiny has a very very low skill ceiling but there’s definitely a low skill ceiling you can’t get past unless you use one of the like, 10 guns of note in PvP, which was a step backwards from halo imo. people who are really good at shooters are serial killers though
I’m pretty good at destiny pvp and I’m pretty sure I’ve never killed anyone
I’ll never be a pvp person but it’s a shame they don’t have the concept of running ‘hot zones’ in the actual world maps where one could indulge in pking beyond the crucible
I want invasions outside gambit a la dark souls
A player dropping in 2/3 through a strike to grief you would be exciting
