I think MGSV is defeated not just by how they present it (the last mission, the Skull Face awkward car ride, is a beautiful end to the story of expectant player internalization), but the expectations previous Metal Gears had set, and the expectations the abandoned direction? that the intro set. Players expected a certain type of long-windedness from Metal Gear and were convinced it was missing when they didn’t see it. Players expected to be able to save everyone in Mass Effect 3 due to BioWare design patterns and were convinced it was missing when they didn’t see it.
Naturally, as we followed so many of MGSV’s design patterns in Shadow of War without any of leadership having played it, we made the exact same normal end/secret end mistake.
I suspect they will be time-based, not skill-based rewards, like Revoker (gross glory, not net) or Redrix Broadsword (long quest). I believe Trials of the Nine used a token system to let you get everything but the emblem for flawless without streaks.
Lifestyle games are bad and I will honestly never play a Bungie game again until they stop making them. Destiny is almost a good game! It’s so close to being good!! It’s such a sadness!!!
the destiny 2 pvp community is up in arms about fusion balance and it brings me joy that i ruin their attempts at handcannon dueling by deleting them from existence
fusions are fine. snipers and shotguns are picked way more often. they just love to whine when they get OHKed and then call it skill when they OHK
I really hope no one got laid off after user accounts got munched with a need to roll back the world, again, but I’m not confident
Prayers for my quality assurance kameraden
