i got brown noted by the destiny loading screen when i had e coli

its guardiancon and theyve got some donation incentives

bungie really loves tattooing their employees

they have said publicly in the D1 days that the judging criteria for faction logos and icons in-game is that it has to look good as a tattoo

how many employees are branded i wonder

they’ve raised over 350k$ in their block, which is the largest block the charity has ever had! i think that’s cool.

luke came out and said lord of wolves will be adjusted in july, but until then they’re gonna release the wolves and let xur sell it tomorrow so everyone has it (i think)??

deej played and had to wear the shaxx helmet

for some reason i always have the game music turned off and just listen to spotify

i listen to really cheesy music while i play destiny, so i rarely hear the in-game soundtrack

I think I might get “Aiat.” on the inside of my wrist.

The more I use Redrix, the more I love the idea of pinnacle weapons. Exotics are special because they’re usually easy to use - I have to be on to use Redrix, and usually Outbreak, Go Figure, or Blast Furnace are better options. But last night I got 21 5+ streaks (tracked by the Blade Master triumph) in five matches of Iron Banner and it felt like it was starting to click. It forces you to stick with teammates, hang back, and think about your positioning before pushing once you proc Desperado. The quest made me learn how to use pulses effectively against hand cannon/shotgun meta and now the triumph is teaching me to be proficient. The more recent ones feel like they’ve dropped this almost entirely.

Crucible is basically unplayable right now with all the sweaty assholes using Lord of Wolves lol. Just once I’d like for Bungie to not indulge a meta that makes the game profoundly unfun to play unless you stick to it. Having to use the same loadout as everyone else just to have a chance sucks.

is lord of wolves sweaty? i thought it was just ridiculously overpowered so everyone is using it, not just THOSE PEOPLE

i like it when the game breaks and they indulge it for a couple weeks, Prometheus lens baby

iron banner just hasnt clicked with me this time around, maybe because the pursuit demands a ridiculous amount of playtime in a week and im not a psychopath
i had fun with the few games ive been playing but im not gonna grind at it for ugly equipment

i guess its cool bungie gives everyone access to the op weapons but also it always makes crucible fucking unplayable when they do it. i dont want to have to use this stupid gun all weekend in a mode thats already tenuously fun

actually i was wrong, xur is not selling it cause it only drops from spider bounties.

It’s in the Xur engram pool if y’all don’t have it; gl, hf

Just about at the end of my Iron Banner armor pursuit and this is such a grind to get. I’ve reset TWICE just trying to finish it

this game is a sickness of the soul

how does shaxx drink coffee with his helmet on

Mara stared at the Wall of Wishes. She had no more bargains to make. Her plans were in motion.
There was nothing left but the wait.
She pulled a sidearm from a hidden holster and cracked a dozen rounds into the Wall.
The cosmic balance shifted. Somewhere in the Dreaming City, Riven heard the Queen’s wish and a thousand shrieking tears in reality cut through the space in front of her.
Lord Shaxx suddenly blocked Mara’s view of the Wall.
“—YES, AND WE’D ALL BE DEAD!” He was screaming at no one, with a mug of caffeine in his fist.
He started, almost spilling his coffee. “Where are we?”
Mara slapped the mug out of his hand. It shattered on the floor. She shoved a weathered book in his face. “I told you there would come a time when I collect for the Reef Wars. Read this. Out loud.”
“No one tells me what to do,” he said, grabbing the book and incinerating it in a bolt of Striker lightning. “I can recite The Tempest by heart.” And he did. Mara sat and listened. They stayed for a long time.
The helmet stayed on.

From grabbing pursuit to completion of the triumph, it took me ~100 Iron Banner matches to get my full truage set. This is 1/4th of my Iron Banner playtime across all of Destiny 2.

man i passed hard on ib this time, i don’t want armor that bad

i pretty much login periodically and do a few bounties, maybe run a strike with fighting lion which i am really starting to like a lot

I’m an extreme dumbass and I made another suggestion post on the Destiny subreddit. I will replicate it here for posterity:

A few suggestions for some mm/friends QOL improvements.

  • Add "willing to do " buttons to the Roster or Director. Other players looking at you in your friends list can see which activities you’ve marked off. Maybe resets on each log-in?
  • If friends are matchmaking in the same activity - for example, QP - automatically group them into a fireteam (enabled/disabled through privacy settings, obviously)
  • Add “fireteam matchmaking” to NF, where matchmaking throws you into a fireteam with another player in orbit rather than into the activity. I know, I know, complaining about NF not having MM is played out, but they are trivially easy, lots of people already use LFG to find randos to grind NFs, and almost every group I’ve participated in takes time to talk and work out loadouts in orbit.

And here’s my pie-in-the-sky suggestion everyone will hate because everyone who plays this game (including myself) has endgame brain sickness that makes them hate casuals:

  • Add “easy” modes to every raid that removes darkness zones and instead makes the raid operate on Menagerie logic (if you’re bad/inexperienced it just takes significantly longer). Raids need better on-ramps than player guides to teach mechanics, and Menagerie lays out a really effective model for doing so.
    • Ex: In the Leviathan Gauntlet, there are cues on the targets you have to shoot instead of runner callouts, and instead of going to the race after 3 laps, you go after enough orbs have been deposited in the center.
      • Please don’t yell at me over this I’m just brainstorming!
    • Can still keep checkpoint/wipe mechanics for certain encounters, like the Servitor race in Scourge.
    • Normal/Prestige are the raids as we know them today, except maybe with extra rewards. Think Heroic Menagerie vs Matchmade. Guaranteed curated rolls, exotics, and catalysts as exclusive rewards, for example.

I just look at the jury-rigged community solution we have for getting around all the bad endgame onramp and matchmaking, and it makes me think about other solutions that are actually integrated into the game’s mechanics.

The first Reddit reply is a guy saying I don’t raid.

MMO players are fucking stupid.

Edit: Yeah it’s just gonna get downvoted into oblivion. I deleted it because I don’t want a bunch of Destiny elitists being shitheads at me lol

Hey, wanna raid sometime?

Always! I know Leviathan and Scourge by heart, I’ve done Wish and Eater once each, and I haven’t done Spire or Sorrow yet.
