I’ve had a bug open on the new WINDOWS TERMINAL for about six months about how closing a tab shouldn’t silently detach the shell until you have a dozen zombie bash processes
please someone describe to us how computers work, we have no idea

Man I guess I was a cynical jerk 10 years ago. I remember hating Alan Wake back then. Now I am playing it and this is pretty cool.
Maybe I am older and more cultured and recognize all the tropes and think Alan is less a jerk and more dealing with stuff.
I forgot you were playing and was asked by my brother if I wanted to play. He’s moved farther away and is a father of two so his time is limited and this is all we really have sometimes.
Jeez make me feel bad for being a jerk why don’t you
It’s okay, I still want to play with you as well
I just accidentally looked up the solution to a puzzle in Baba is You because I was so convinced I had already solved it and it was driving me crazy why the solution I had before wasn’t working. turned out to be a different level with a single-tile difference. i feel dirty now.
I bought MO: Astray and I’m not getting along with it. Its an puzzle platformer and most of the rooms so far are iterations on the underwater level from TMNT. and that’s extra frustrating because movement is like Dandara. But its analog aiming and I frequently mis-aim by a hair. Might feel tighter if it were 8 way aim. Which I may try to force via xpadder or something.
It also frequently presents you with situations which you can only pass by testing your max jump distance.
So I dunno, so far the gameplay has just been really annoying and grating. Rather than presenting fun platforming.
ALSO there is a narrator which constantly says story info to you via audible gibberish and on screen text----while you are in the middle of trying to jump and avoid stuff. So, I frequently miss sentences here and there. Because you can’t read while doing frustrating platforming. DUH. I dunno how they played tested this and continuously thought that was a good idea.
ALSO a lot of the story details come via tapping into the thoughts of people and creatures. And frequently, rooms will have several people or creatures. So you tap a mind, get info, move two inches, tap a mind, get info, move two inches, tap… So that just introduces a bunch of pauses in gameplay. and anytime you see a room full of people or creatures, you instantly know you are about to engage in a bunch of pausing and tapping. ugh…
Its got beautiful visuals and sound but, not caring for this so far.
I also tried The Creature In The Well, via Xbox Game Pass on PC. And that’s pretty cool so far. its a semi-linear dungeon crawler where you use pinball machine mechanics to pass rooms. But your character is what gets the balls going and then you are in the middle of it, so you gotta also dodge things and stay out of the way, while also diving in to re-direct balls in different directions.
and its set in a sort of desert/electronics punk setting. I like it so far.
*However, the way to exit the game via the menus on PC is basically hidden and its really dumb. I had to google around and finally found how to do it, via the steam discussions for this game. and hopefully it autosaves because it sure doesn’t say anything about saving. I had that problem a few days ago, with Subnautica.
I’ve played a couple of hours of Supraland and I’m waiting for the point at which this becomes Game of the Year material for some folks. Is it…is there something else…? I dunno, it’s fine for sure and pretty unique, but not mindblowing.
no, abandon now if you have any doubts and value your time
It only gets worse
Trust in the opinions of “tulpa” in that supraland thread, they know what they’re talking about
okay i should have read this before i spent an hour playing it and put myself over the 2 hour limit, hopefully I can still refund this.
It is extremely Nothing
hours 3-5 are the best part for what that’s worth
so if you’re stuck with it, it does get a little better, but you shouldn’t feel obliged to finish it by any means
I think the peak of this would probably have been when I stacked two sponges on top of each other to block a door instead of solving the puzzle the real way
I think Baba is You and Opus Magnum have ruined all other puzzle games for me. I just don’t care unless your puzzles are extremely clever or at least interesting to poke at.
they refunded it so now i can never think about this game again, which would have happened either way
I finished yakuza 0 yesterday. 55ish hours and 60% completion is pretty good for me I think! I need to go back and finish the cabaret club but part of me wants to get right into kiwami since I took a huge break from yakuza and only had like 2 story chapters left to finish in 0
The cabaret club is pretty quick once you’ve finished the main game, as I recall.
Watch out for that Yakuza burnout. I love those games to death but it’s hard to do two in a row without having your eyes glaze over at ole Kamurocho.
edit: oh duh you took a huge break. well still!
Yeah, I almost always take a break in the middle of a YKZ game, then come back to finish that one then play the next until I need another break.
